On Saturday April 6th, a restored B-25 Mitchell named "Axis Nightmare" was on display on the grass about 20ft from rwy 13/31 at Lambert. This is about 100ft from the 94th Aerosquadron restaurant. It was like a sight from Europe- about 200 people from 90 to 2 years old running around the fence enclosing the B-25 and some inside it. But most of the people were drinking, eating, and socializing at the restaurant patio! The "Axis Nightmare" was built on V-J Day in 1945, and the second to last B-25 built at Fairfax, KS. This aircraft will be featured in Columbia, S.C. for the 60th anniversary of the Doolittle Raid on April 17-21. The plane trained pilots, but never used in combat. I took about one full roll of film in the cockpit, bombay, and exterior! Very immaculate aircraft. In addition I was about 100ft closer to the already near 12L departures 600ft away! A great day at good ole Lambert! Love to hear from you all!

Turbo,
I missed it. How did you get to it? Was it just sitting down the hill from the 94'th or did you have to go through Midcoast?

It was on a sloping hill right to the east of the restaurant, towards McDonnell Blvd. We parked at the 94th, and accessed it from the grass by the patio.
