I'd heard that Paul Allen is moving his Flying Heritage Collection aircraft from Arlington airport to Paine Field in Everett WA. There is a really nice photo of his Daimler-engined Bf 109E posted at Microvoltradio's excellent web site:
Also, another photo of the first airplanes inside the new hangar:
(Looks like a Hellcat front and center, an Oscar to the left, and a piloted V-1 (Fi 103) being assembled in the background.)
I've also heard that the Bf 109E was in flyable condition. So, my question is, was the Bf 109E flown from Arlington to Paine Field, or was it trucked? I believe that all the flyable airplanes were to be flown down.
A couple of news stories form the local newspaper, the Everett Herald:

Quoting TheSonntag (Reply 3): Nice plane, even though I prefer a version without swastika today (please no discussion on this, though ).
I agree, it's a very nice plane. I also think it's good that serious collectors and museums maintain vintage aircraft in their original condition, including swastikas, if that's historically accurate. If people in Germany find that uncomfortable or unpleasant, I think that's good too. It serves as a healthy reminder of what happened 70 years ago.

You can see the pilot in his tan flight suit in one picture and his modern fighter pilot helmet sitting on the ground in another. So I would assume it was flown. Not to mention, if it was trucked, you would probably find it in pieces in the hangar after delivery rather than outside and fully assembled.

If you look under the elevator you will also see it has an N number.....just a dumb question but you wouldn't put an n number on something that will just sit in a mesuem?
