Anybody know of any place I can try to ID an aircraft by a particular part number?

The item has a date stamped similar to : 4-25-1954 or 1955
also;
"192-47778"

also;
Calif Part No. 7-653-171-1
Serial No 235
all on the same item.

It may be possibly an air to air refueling receptible , and I would like to know if anybody has a way to cross reference part numbers, or point me in the way of a website of parts house to call, to find out what type of a/c this was from.

Thank you,

SJC Alien

...I'm helping through another website,,

They said it's serial number is 'engraved' on the unit: 192-48778

Then they said on the front valve unit: Calif Part No 7-653-171-1 Serial 235

There is no plate or any other indentifying numbers. It's about 8ft long. I didn't know civilian planes had air-to-air recepticales(sp) my guess it's Military.

Thanks for any help.
