Hey guys,

Air Force One will be flying into the Detroit area 6/25, I have a few questions.

There is a TFR for 6.9 nm around the DXO VOR (DTW) between 3:40 PM and 7:05 PM...

Is it safe to assume that AF1 will be landing at DTW then? Do you guys think I would get hassled too much for trying to spot it?

I don't know from experience but I am almost certain you will get approached by someone. I spot at PHX and I have been approached on a normal day. With the big guy in town you can guarantee it. Whether or not they let you stay, your guess is as good as mine. I would imagine that they would if they could inspect your camera, but don't quote me on that.

It is safe to believe that the TFR will be in place....beyond that, who knows.

I've gotten photos of AF1 arriving and departing JFK on several occasions, and never had anyone approach me, let alone ask me to leave. I was in one of our "regular" spots, in plain sight, for an hour before the movements. Saw lots of security, but no one paid any attention (at least overtly) to me.
