The air show that got postponed last summer out at the Westover Air Reserve base in Chicopee, Massachusetts will be happening this year...on September 6 & 7.
September is traditionally one of the best weather-months of the year in New England, so I'm looking forward to making the drive from my home in southern New Hampshire.
Aside from seeing for the first time the 'new' C-5Bs at Westover, I understand we'll see fly-bys of the B-2 and the C-17, among many others. The Thunderbirds will be there, as will the F-15E and F/A-18 demo teams.
Let's use this thread as a place to communicate about the show leading up to it: New performers, things to watch (and listen!) for, and general news of note relative to the show.

Well folks, we're less than a week away from the 'Great New England Air show' at Westover, September 6-7 (Chicopee, in western Massachusetts).
The risk is pretty high that some inclement weather (remnants of Gustav) will impact Saturday. I hope not, because this show was already postponed last year (for other reasons...not weather).
I have discovered that the planned & scheduled fly-by of the B-2 will NOT happen. It was taken off the list of 'scheduled performers' last week and I asked about it in an e-mail. The response was that the B-2 and some other planned acts had been scrapped due to 'budget constraints.' It does make me wonder about the legitimacy of that reason, because they'd know long before last week whether there was enough 'budget' for the B2 'Spirit' to appear. Heck, they (the Air Force) should know before the air show season even begins. So, I'm extremely suspicious of that reason. But what's done is done, and hopefully the weather will cooperate at least for one of the two days.
It will be good to see Westover show off their 'new' C-5B, in addition to the Thunderbirds.
