C-5/C-17/KC-135 Size Comparison

I know the C-5 is huge, but when you actually see the difference between the KC-135, and the C-5 it is amazing. (also a C-17 nearby)

If you poke around a bit more, there's also at least two 747s there, and a bunch of KC-10s all over the place!!! Don't forget all those coool old birds at what must be a museum of some sort...

Classic planes, Classic trains, and Studebakers~~ what else is there???

The Travis Air Museum will be getting the last airworthy C-133A on Labor Day (1 Sept. in the US). Originally she had USAF tail number 56-1999, now carries FAA Reg. # N199AB. I believe the final flight is scheduled to arrive in time for the Travis AFB Airshow.

Thanks for the tip- I may have to head up there that weekend!!! There may NEVER be a chance to see one of those in the air again.

Yeah I saw them, but the KC-135, C-17 and the C-5 parked next to each other are amazing.

That is too cool, I had no idea that the C-133 was still flying. I saw the one at the USAF Museum several times, and thought they had stopped flying long ago. I won't be able to make it but it would awesome to see that last flight. Thing looks like a C-130 on some serious steroids. Thanks for the link.

And to JFK, yeah and having seen them both in person many times and knowing the dimensions that aerial view still surprised me as to exactly how much bigger the C-5 is.

I was surprised how much bigger the KC-10 is then the KC-135 the first time I saw them parked side by side. Here's a KC-10, C-5 (and C-130). You can see the KC-10 holds its own a little better. The K-35's are down to the southwest.
