And did they solve that emissions problem they where having with their trucks.

You know the one where they couldn't use their tactical trucks because the IM stickers had expired and the only testing station was back in Germany.

That's a little unfair comment, considering the resources ,funds and casualties involved in the deal..
It is true that there a no "fighting" troops in Afghanistan-but how much do we ,a.netters, really know about what they really do donw there ??? Just considering "fighting" troops as useful and the remaining ones are considered as "useless" is quite an unqualified statement..

Not using military equipment in the combat zone because it doesn't mean emission standards speaks volumes about the times we live in.

It is good to see though that the Germans will continue their stay in Afghanistan and be of assistance in certain areas.

No, only if the Afghans or whatever enemy shoots first  Yeah sure

Actually it is prolongued 14 month rather than the normal 12, isn't it?
To keep it out of the elections in 2009.

I think they have proved that they are, My wishs for them cannot be expressed here. I think we all know why the German soldiers were targeted, but the children and innocent civilians, simply amazing. Let us hope this does not deter the German Government from helping out there.

Indeed. Lets hope they will finally bring some Leopard 2 A6M like the Canadians who leased 20 German tanks of that type.

Is there any way to see a list of which (German) troops are involved?
