Hello all.
i just been issued a Residence permit in the UK (with limited leave to remain).
A few friends mentioned that i will not require a visa for travel to Swizerland(Going 4 the Zurich meet)!
Can anyone help? i just need 2 know if i require a visa or not.

According to the information found on the website of the Swiss Federal Office for Migration, you don't need a visa only if you hold a "permanent residence certificate of an EU or EFTA county". If your residence permit says "with limited leave to remain", I understand it is *not* permanent, and therefore the visa is required.

I'm trying to get through to that office but their operators are busy... I'll post again when I have an answer for you.

OK, I got them on the phone. It's very clear: if the UK residence permit is "with limited leave to remain", then a visa *is* needed. If it was a permanent residence permit then it would have waived the need for a visa.
