I realise I haven't posted anything about food recently, so I will today.

Now, what do you normally have for breakfast? I normally have lightly done toast with butter and jam (normally ginger and rhubarb). Today, though, I'm eating a pasty and fudge yoghurt. Don't ask. Perhaps I'm pregnant.

A nice hot cup of "Sleeping in" - then I have lunch which can be anything from pizza to fish and chips to anything I can find worth eating in this house (My father doesn't know how to shop properly and If I try to do it I get told off for buying heaps of crap we don't need... Go figure

Usually, I have nothing.

But on occasions I may cook up something and it ranges from the wroks to a bowl of cereal. Also, McDonalds does great sometimes.

6 mornings a week porridge with some protein powder stirred into it . Saturdays I live dangerously and go downstairs to the café in our Metro station and have a coffee , a croissant and a pain au chocolat ( such decadence ) .... my dog patrols the floor between me and my partner sweeping up any crumbs that flake off ... once in a while we do the full fry-up breakfast ... but it is not so much fun when you have to cook it instead of buying it .. and I have yet to find anywhere in Bruxelles that does a cooked breakfast in the weekend at breakfast time ... you usually have to wait until lunchtime which kind of ruins the whole thing ... after all they don't call it a "Full English Lunch" , do they ?

Followed by some on toast

I was going to mention something along the lines of "that sounds awfully messy" or "wouldn't you stick to the sheets?" but the double-entendre's not really clearing up either way.

Weekdays @hometown:
2-3 days a week some cereal with fruit, the other days (when we usually run out of fruit) I stop at a bakery and have some "Laugenbrezel" (is there any translation of that into English besides just "Pretzel" which according to my experience overseas does not fully hit it ?)

Weekdays when traveling (for business reasons):
Full hotel breakfast (which sure is a good start into a day but not really low-calorie)

Weekends:
Brunch

Depends what day it is and how I am feeling.

If I have problems with constipation, I have All Bran  sarcastic

Normally it is a glass of fruit juice, bowl of cereal and slice of toast with low-fat spread and Marmite (yummy, yummy).

If I am slim (never) and there's plenty of time, I would opt for the full Monty at the local transport cafe - fried egg, 2 rashers of back bacon, Lincolnshire Sausage, hash browns or fried potatoes, Heinz beans, grilled mushrooms, fried bread and a tomato, washed down with lashings of tea followed by toast, butter and shredless marmalade. And finally an Alka Seltzer. I skip the disgusting black pudding though!

The best breakfasts that I have ever had were at Mothers on Washington Square or Sears, both in San Fran.

Usually a bowl of healthy cereal and a slice of cinnamon bread. Sometimes scrambled eggs or a ham or bacon and cheese omelette. Yum!

Breakfast of champions.....black coffee and a cigarette.
Then about 9.30 I'll have a container of yogurt (my current favorite is Breyers' Low Fat Strawberry Cheesecake yogurt....)

Weekends vary.....sometimes I don't eat a damn thing until afternoon, others I'll get up and make a big breakfast.....

mine is a bit atypical...

i have 4 bowls of cereal...2 bowls of oatmeal, 4 slices of toast pb&j on one set of slices and butter on the other set of slices ....and if i'm very hungry, then I'll add 2 waffles...

along with that, I have a BIG glass of orange juice, then I'll have my vitamins/minerals/various amino acids...and to finalise it, I'll have a protein supplement.....

so yah..I do tend to go over-the-top..but breakfast is the single most important meal of the day...

on weekends.....i'll go light and have a few scrambled eggs.... Smile

During my work week, i have nothing to eat. I do have about 5 cups of coffee prior to lunch.

On the weekend, i usually make the traditional bacon and eggs with hashbrowns and toast c/w jam and coffee.

Last week the wife made eggs benedict. nice treat.

Tea and a bowl of cereal. Currently on Oatmeal Crisp. Only problem is that I can't find the flavour I like in the States so I have to bring it down from Vancouver. I like cereals with good fibre and with fruit.
