Has anyone SEEN a funny street name personally? I don't mean a picture or "oh I heard there is one called so and so..". I mean personally SEEN the sign.

I'll start. In North York we have a housing division called the "Morning Gloryway" and in Metro-Toronto "Fudger Gardens".

In Reno we have Bowling Alley and in Sparks we have Disc Drive. Both were intentional I believe.

I have always been a fan of this one.

Also in ANC, there is a Lois Drive, some superman nerds tried unsuccessfully awhile back to change it to Lois Lane.

There is a street in the Metro Detroit area (specifically, the city of Southfield) called "Lois Lane"

9VSPO, I've always loved that street sign. Many, many eons ago, I used
to live there. It's an intersection in the Inwood section of upper Manhattan
in NYC.

Yeah, it is real, named after Bush 41 who was CIA director in the late 70s I believe the time frame is. I have family I was visiting in DC and I begged to make the trip to Langely just to see the signs myself. I laughed for the rest of the day.

The focal point for the gay community in Manchester is a road called Canal Street. There is an on-going joke that if you drop the first letter of each of those two words, the resulting name spells something which might be more fitting to that particular group... Big grin

There is a Bent Street in Taos,NM about 2 hours north of my house in SAF. A bit off topic but I always found Phuket,Thailand to look quite funny although not pronounced the way it looks.

Here in Nassau we've got quite a few... judging by what others find funny, I guess I could start with "Cowpen Road." (not funny, IMHO)

For the atheists out there (me being one of them): Faith Avenue.

Now my favourites:

3. Bias Corner
2. Dumping Ground Corner (and it's NOT not the municipal landfill)
.
.
.
.
1. Dog Flea Alley

Probably lots more, but I can't think of any right now. And yes, I've seen them all with my own two eyes.

Coming to think of it... a few more from Nassau (admittedly, haven't seen all of them myself, just flicked through the phone book for reference):

Bacardi Road (named after the Bacardi distillery there)
Jail Alley and Gaol Alley
Hurricane Hole
Tuckaway Road
New Hope Drive
Horse Shoe Drive
Harmony Hill
Shady Tree Street
Koolair Drive [sic!]
Lady Slipper Avenue
Tranquilizer Estates

I guess the best I can come up with is back in the UK, Alderman Willy Close in Wokingham, Berks. Where Woodley Airfield was in Reading, Berks the council named all the streets after aircraft and pilots. There were going to name a small street, Douglas Bader Walk, somewhat ironic since the guy lost his legs there...In the end they named the main thoroughfare after him, Bader Way.

I live in an Avenue Road (well, I do in the UK!!)

Not a road sign, but the Aussies have some superb signs out here. Went to Sydney Aquarium and saw a sign that said

"Please do not climb over this fence. If the fall doesn't kill you, the crocodile will."

There's actually a Cow Pen Rd in Miami Lakes, where I live. There are, in fact, many cows living around it, although they're bulding over the pastures.

There's a Stall Road around the Tampa, FL area. I was always afraid to drive down it and see a whole mess of cars along side the road.

Beaver Ruin Road in the Atlanta is also a classic, for obvious reasons. Big grin
