I just went on vacation to Madrid and am currently in Amsterdam for a few weeks before I go back home to France and it seems like most of Europe has caught onto Manu Chao, a french guy who sings in portugease, spanish, english and french.

So has he caught on in the states yet?

Yeah I've read about Manu Chao, he certainly is very international. I missed a free concert of his in Central Park in New York this past summer, so I downloaded a few songs.. La Vie a 2, Bongo Bong, Me gustas tu, El Viento. Clandestino isn't that great.

The music overall though is really a nice sound. I recomend it. World beats they call it.

He isn't mainstream, but I have heard his music and I like it. Also, I'm sure he's been featured in ads and other forms we just don't know it.
