Well, last night I witnessed an awesome case we decided was "instant karma".

One of the ramp guys had to move the lav cart so we could get our van in the hangar door, and as he was pulling it he was jokingly talking crap about our department. Soon as he finishes is sentence, he slips on some blue juice that had dripped on the floor and falls flat on his ass.

Anyone else had this sort of thing happen?

No, but I have seen it happen. I do not recall the event but remember hearing about it among my other coworkers.

Happens all the time but it's not Karma. Your example is more circumstance and coincidence.
"Instant Karma" is an oxymoron and a John Lennon song title.
Karma is accrued. It is the result of your deeds and actionsthrough time. If a person disseminates hate or greed for instance, they will create an environment around them of mistrust and solitude. Conversely, if a person disseminates goodwill and caring, their life will be blessed with true friends and love.

I've found that random acts of kindness is the best way to bank good Karma. For instance, a few years ago, my son Patrick and I were in the drive thru at a fast food restaurant . Behind us was a local Police unit (not where I live). After paying for my food, I asked the employee how much was the food for the policeman. I paid for it and told the employee to tell the Officer that an appreciative citizen said thanks.
A couple months later, my son and I got rolled by a cop from the same municipality for having a "speed contest". The penalties for these charges include impounding the vehicles and license suspension. After all was said and done, my son was cited for doing 54mph in a 45 zone. The officer clocked Patrick at 79mph however he cited 54mph so Pat could go to traffic school. I received a lecture. I had forgotten about the drive through restaurant incident until Patrick brought it up.
I perform random acts of kindness all the time and some very good things have happened. Additionally, some very bad things have not happened.  Smile

More like poetic justice rather than karma biting someone in the butt.

I definitely believe in karma and that's a funny example you have there.

How does that work? You couldn't have seen it if you heard about it from your coworkers..

Here is one to laugh at: I was on a delivery and there is cop about to pass me. I simply slow down to 40 and he goes by. Now the guy behind him speeds up and in the process gets told to slow down. I find this ironic as I was going a tad faster but was in the process of turning.

Karma is bs. I have seen plenty of people sail through life, screwing people over and over, and having very little bad happen to them before they die happy and content.

There are also those who give almost everything they have, to die unappreciated and unpopular.

This doesn't mean that self sacrifice ought not be done, but you shouldn't expect anything in return. Be cool to be cool, not to look for returns.
