Wait until after the Games, as folks will be trying to move that stuff ASAP. I'd even check eBay, as I'm sure some folks plunked a chunk of change on Olympic merchandise in hopes of turning a profit (The Olympics always seem to get folks thinking that the Games being held in their area is an opportunity to make a ton of money, but usually this backfires.). I remember not too long after the 1996 Summer Olympics here in Atlanta, I bought several 1996 Olympic items at Sports Authority for about half price (including a Swiss Army Knife.). Then again, you never know what could be the "must-have" Olympic item is, look at the popularity of the hats Roots made for the 2002 Games in SLC. | |
