So, a high school pal of mine - and not some casual yeah-yeah-we-went-to-hs-together, but rather someone I hold in very high regard, had the following status & comments go up on Facebook (the names here are changed of course):

==========================
Airstud's friend
Background first. My 10 year old son likes owls. At the store tonight there were gift cards for restaurants and he saw one he wanted so he asked his mom to buy it. Any guesses which one?

Erica F: Hooters! LOL!

Airstud's friend: We have a winner!

David D: Nice!!!

Erica F: I hear they have good wings!

Airstud's friend: Her response of course was "no." So he asked "why not?" Any guesses what she said to that?

"Any guesses what she said to that?" he asked.

Do you have any. Freakin'. Idea. What it took for me to not say, "'Reminds me too much of work?'"

If you had any. FREAKIN'. IDEA....

...uhhh, what?

If that was a test of your will power, especially enough to share with the world, professional counseling may be right for you!

Quoting Airstud (Reply 3):

I don´t get it...

However, if what you are saying is that seeing the comments some people post on Facebook, makes you ask yourself why you even have the account, I get you.

Every day I wake up, I see pictures posted of a dish with food on it, and the comment: "I´m having breakfast" Stupid? Yes. Then again, not every people I know is a rocket scientist.

I just see it as the tolerance I need to have to use what is a good tool for me for many things. Socializing being the one I´m least concern with.

Remember, it´s not Facebook that´s requires will power. It´s people´s stupidity, and that´s been around forever. Facebook just makes it public.
