What is that about? How is the food there? What do they serve? Are the food really unhealthy?

I have seen the adds for the place and would like to go there some day just to try it out for myself. Looks good for a one time meal.

I'm not sure if this thread was started after hearing about this story of a heart attack but its an interesting thing nonetheless. That's the second heart attack in 2 months after last month a guy having a 'triple bypass' had one.

I'd love to go there just to try it out. As the guy says in the above article, the people going there know the food is horrifically unhealthy. I'd be interested in seeing their clientele, if it's people who see it as a novelty or if they have regulars.

You could not pay me enough to eat there, not even if you guarantee me healthcare for the rest of my life (not like anyone would. That would be socialism... )

I'd like to go there before they get sued and forced to shut down because of some frivolous lawsuit.

There is one in Arizona, I think on Kyrene Road in Tempe/Chandler. Never tried it, I don't want to risk it.....

Edit add: After seeing the YouTube link provided above, this IS the one I saw. Except the signage is different now.

It shut down and the owner decided to open in Vegas. They had also opened up a Dallas location and it lasted a few months last year before being shut down due to not paying the rent. The original location attracted a lot of media attention as well, especially after their spokesman died last year (The guy weighed 575 lbs. and died from complications of pneumonia [his size probably helped to contribute to that].).

Now I do applaud them for frying their fries in lard, not only because the fries taste better, it's actually a healthier choice than vegetable shortening (Lard has less trans-fat than shortening and has more "good" cholesterol than butter.). Lard got a bad rap over the last several decades and undeserved on at that.

Would I eat there? Probably not, as there are better options for burgers in the Fremont Street area (Hennessey's Tavenr, which is across the way from this place, has really good burgers.). It's a gimmick restaurant and at some point, the gimmick will get old and the place will shut down.

How is business going for them in Vegas thus far?? Sounds like Vegas is the right place for this restaurant.

YOU just posted a picture of deep-fried Puerto Rican food to your Facebook profile! Tostones, fried chicken (I think), and rice.

so nyer!

MY lunch was a turkey sammich on WHEAT, no mayo, a veggie plate, a 110 calorie Kellogs Special K chips bag, and a cookie (which I earned by swimming over 3 miles today).

So neener neener neener!

Really? An actual medical office? Say it is so!. I thought real nurses wearing barley there nurse uniform threads went the way of the dodo bird. If I were involved in the medical profession I'd start a laboratory where the phlebotomists/nurses were all young, female, hot looking built like brick shit houses and wearing skin bearing uniforms. I who am the number one hypodermic phobic would be knocking down the door to get blood work and vaccinations I always avoid/put off.
Not that I need medical treatment but, I've never had a young hottie phlebotomist. The lab techs (folks that draw blood) are anything but hot looking!

Superfly: Due to the hot tropical climate, do any of the nurses at least wear walking shorts type of scrubs while on the job at the hospitals and doctor's office? One can only hope. So far recently the only hot looking female nurses/medical staff I've seen are on Survivor when one of the contestants gets hurt like the guy that fell into that campfire or the other guy who I believe cut open his thigh. The womem attending them looked young, buff and were wearing khaki shorts that showed plenty of athletic muscular but shapley leg. They sort of reminded me of Lara Croft.

I spent three days in Bumrungrad hospital in Bangkok and aside from my knee surgery, it was heaven! I would tell you about the "highly detailed" morning sponge baths by two lovely young ladies, but the Mods will delete it!

Understood.
For some reason, here in Bangkok when I get a physical, there are 10-15 female nurses watching me when I have to cough or any sort of penile or testicular exam. It's as if they all want to watch, look, cover their face in embarrassment, run outside and take a deep breathe and cool off. I'm not sure but I'm often times called back for frequent physicals.
I think they just want to look at my package....
