So, I'm giving an hour-long presentation tomorrow to a fairly large audience. I was sick last week, and have that annoying, lingering cough. I can make it about 15 minutes in before I get an awful tickle in my throat and go practically hoarse.

Any great ideas? Cough drops seemed to help a little. I've been drinking plenty of water, too. Still taking the mucinex cough syrup every 4 hours on the dot.

Just keep doing what you are doing. Appoglise in advance about your cold, we've all been there so I am sure your audience will understand! Good luck.

If you can get to a steam room or sauna this could help. Drink a lot of water to keep hydrated and best of luck.
Of course some say vinegar can knock it out or my old standby, going to town (down) on a nice young woman.

Went well. Made it most of the way through before I started losing my voice. Fortunately, I sprinkled some 1 - 2 minute "attention grabber" videos just to spice things up.... or to give myself a second to gulp more water and some tea.

I would have suggested sitting in your bathroom with the shower on as hot as it can and just sitting in the steam (not necessarily in the shower). But I'm glad it went well. I've been in your position before; distractions such as videos make great opportunities to get some tea down

That doesn't always work at all, what you suggest is really a myth.
