I'm sure I'm not the only one on these forums - I'm a lover of the Bic brand. To me, it is synonymous with quality and reliability and I absolutely love the minimalistic design of the products.
If I'm writing something, chances are that my biro is a Bic. When I travel, I'm more than willing to swap my regular Gilette Sensor Excel shaver for one of those disposable Bic blades - they give a smooth shave. My lighters just have to be Bic - look classy and... they actually work.
Speak up Bic fans!

Mssr. Biche is the inventor of the Ball Point Pen.

I don't smoke and would rather use "paper mate" to write and "gillette" to shave.

"Vive le Bic"  Yeah sure

Bic Schmic.

Bic biros are not comfortable to write with, and their shavers suck.

and BIC lighters? "Look Classy" Please?!? Get yourself a Dunhill lighter, or maybe table lighter by Cartier, and at tit bit of class whilst you're at it.

If you want class, use a Colibri, bic is for the unwashed.

Those bic pens... D'oh!!! They mean "cheap", I hate them! Gimme my Lamy, let me write for ages with one refill and I don't need any other ballpoint pen.

As for lighters - if I needed one, it'd probably be a bic. For they are so cheap, you know... Big grin

Shavers? Wilkinson.

I dislike most things Bic. I particularly detest their ballpoint pens. White-out is horrid, but all correction fluids are because unless you go through a litre a week it's going to turn into a useless gel before you can finish the bottle. Then it'll flake all over papers and...yeah. I'll go hide now.

I agree with Turbolet !
I love Bic, I have only Bics and I know how to make Bic look better.

Okay okay, I'm not comparing Bic lighters to a Zippo, you have to take the price range into consideration, too. Over here, I got a Bic electronic which I'm very happy with for 45c, and a Zippo costs around Lm 10. When a Bic finishes, you throw it away, when a Zippo finishes, you refill it. So there's your crucial difference.
I'm making a comparison between my Bic and my dad's disposable no-name lighters. To light up, he needs around quarter of an hour of trying and someone else to cup his hands around the lighter because otherwise it will go out.
Same with biros. Comparing a Bic with a Parker pen does not make sense because once again, the Parker is a lot more expensive. Ditto for shavers.

Okay, if you're talking about disposable stuff, bic may be a good choice. But I'd hardly ever call the design of any of their products "classy"... Nope, sorry! It's all plastic, a bit of pigment and some metal where it can't be replaced with plastic.

In general, I'll rather go for anything made of metal, it just feels better and looks sleeker.

I am a big fan of Bic Lighters and Pens. Disposable and inexpensive. Made in France.

Zippos are great too - they make wonderful gifts. Made in Bradford, Pennsylvania, USA! The factory offers tours.

There was an article about Zippo in the Houston Chronicle a few days ago. Something about copyrights and counterfeits.

Anyone ever seen that Zippo car?

Gordon Bethune likes Zippo.

See ‘From Worst to First’ – some chapter near the end, after the ‘Somebody Stole the Cheese off My Pizza’ chapter.
