As the topic questions, what is the best concert you have been to? I went to see Robbie Williams last August at Phoenix Park, Dublin. 175,000 prople were there and it was mad, the sun was shining, and we were lucky enough to get there to be near the front. Even the rain didn't dampen the spirits of the event.

U2 Elevation Tour in Salt Lake City. We were inside the Heart thanks to my buddies brother.

Pearl Jam any time. As part of the fan club you usually get front row seats. Plus they are one hell of a live band.

HaveBlue: Satriani in 2002? That was Engines of Creation, right? That was the first time I saw him live! I saw him in Seattle that time. Great show. I saw him again in Portland second row during the Strange Beautiful concert. Just as good.

Another good one was in 1988: Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith at Seattle Center Arena (now Kea Arena). Nothing spectacular happened during the concert but it was the first time I spent any time in Seattle and just the whole experience and the people I went with made it memorable.

GO CANUCKS!!

Seb146,

Not sure, I'd have to check. I've seen him 4 times, and was trying to remember which was which. 2002 I took Brooke, and I remember he didn't have an opening act, so it wasn't the G3 tour.

Saw him in 1996
Saw him in 2001 on G3 with Steve Vai and Pettrucci
Saw him in 2002
Saw him in 2003 on G3 with Steve Vai and Ynqwie Malmsteen

Each time I was on the barricade immediately in front of the stage, so another words as close as physically possible and it definitely makes the show better. That's one nice thing about him still being not mainstream and smaller venues.

At the 1996 show I got a drum head signed by him and the band.

I'd have to say Oasis in Chicago during the summer of 2002. Noel did an acoustic version of Wonderwall, and that was well worth the price of admission.

An honourable mention would have to be Placebo last december in Dallas. They put on a bad ass show, and I got to meet them and take my picture with the bassist afterwords, he even came out of the bar he was in to take the picture with some friends of mine who weren't old enough to enter the bar. Nice bunch of guys.

Well, in a follow up to my first post, the Ben Folds concert on Saturday was the best show I've ever seen. The guy's just incredible.

There's nothing quite like Ben Folds Live. He's on tour with David Berkeley (who I had the pleasure of meeting), so if anyone's into them, better book tickets fast.

Vaporlock - I flew right over you!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy We flew from Toronto to Halifax that day.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band at Giants Stadium. It's always nice when you have a hometown band playing in front of the local crowd, especially a band that I consider to be the greatest. The best part was the roar let out in Rosalita when Springsteen sang the line about being in the swamps of Jersey (of course, we were in the middle of the swamps of Jersey at this minute).
