My wife thinks "The Farside" comic drawn by Gary Larson is the dumbest comic out there, but I can't get enough of them. I have all the books with all the Farside comics ever made.

Does anyone else like "The Farside" as much as me ?

Oh, by the way my favorite Farside comic is the one captioned "Tethercat".

Cheers!

Kev.

Mr Larson is awesome!

To some he's a bit too off the wall, but he tickles my funny bone just right.  Big thumbs up

My favourite is the groups of cows in the barn, one is sitting at a table tucking into a large steak. He says something like "I'd say we taste a bit like chicken!"

There's one with a T-shirt vendor inside a fort, and a battle going on behind him. The logo on the T-shirt says, "I Kicked Santa Ana's Butt at The Alamo" on it, and the prices for the shirt keep getting lower and lower and lower....

Beware of people who can´t understand The far Side... they probably won´t recognize your own ironic remarks as well...  Wink/being sarcastic

My favorite one, or at least one that I can easily remember, is the "Many Moods of an Irish Setter."

Gary Larson has a skill for irony and dark humor that many wish that they had. Too bad he decided to stop drawing.

One of my favorite is the one where a cow is barbequing some steaks and the another cow tells him, "You're sick. Sick, sick, sick."

The proper comeback in our times of mad cow disease would have been:

"Not yet!"  Wink/being sarcastic

I think Farside comics are some of the best comics ever drawn. Larson was one creative guy.

Just yesterday I was going through some of the pages I saved from a Farside calender received in 2001. The one from Monday, July 16th '01 depicts a guy stranded on an island. Search and resuce spots him, but declares a false alarm because the guy's signal for help was spelt H E L F. I wish I could scan and upload the comic  Laugh out loud

The Far Side was the most hilarious reading ever to grace the comic page...

...was so sad to see it go. That, and the Calendars.

The scientists studying the dolphins, and the scientist says

"We're getting another one of those AWW BLAH ES SPAN YOL sounds again"

It's that great mix of dark and sometimes slightly strange humour  Smile

The one where the professer and the duck are stranded on the deserted island and the duck says something like:

So, Professor Jenkins, my old nemesis. We meet again. But this time the advantage is mine!

In one of his books, Gary Larson said he thought about this for a time and decided to draw it thinking about what kind of twisted past these two charicters have. He's right. That is what made that comic series so damn funny!

Another good one was the two men standing on an island in a park lagoon. They look as though they had been there for months. One of them says "I think this is it! I think we have been spotted!" Whatever it was that lead to that moment just makes the whole thing that much funnier!

GO CANUCKS!!

I was sorry that Larson cancelled the strip. He must have been running out of ideas, or maybe was just losing interest.

One of my favs shows 2 chickens at home. One's pointing to the fridge and a full egg shelf and says to the other chicken; "Here's your problem. Marge, if you and Bob really want kids, next time try sitting on these things".

Classic

I can't get enough of Gary Larson's comics. Some of my favorites:

I also like the one with the cow on the tractor which has drilled a huge hole through the barn wall-
"With a reverberating crash, Lulu's adventure on the tractor had come to an abrupt end."
