We used to an Eddie Bauer edition of the Expedition. I really dont think there was anything super special about it.

I really couldn't care less if there were speical editions or not.

Lexus has offered "Coach Editions" of their ES 300 and LS 400s, off-and-on for about five years. Here's some more info:

Unfortunately, the press release doesn't reveal the famous punchline...
"With Lexus, you'll find out why Coach is the equivalent to travelling first class" (or something to that effect)

I think it's interesting how you point out that these promos are not just relegated to the luxury sector, as showcased by the Gremlin promotion. What is a better symbol of the common man than blue jeans? I feel that was actually a pretty clever gimmick on their part.

1974 Continental Airlines Gremlin giveaway car. Note the Continental logos on the seats (photos courtesy of eddie stakes planet houston amx). Update: It was bought by a movie company (Dreamworks) and shipped to England to be in a movie.
