How's Your Day Been?

I'm sitting in my office at work, and I'm seriously bored. So I have decided to write this random gibberish.

All I've done today is set-up a new backup server, which took all of about 15 minutes.

The weather here is crap, and doesn't look like getting any better.

On a brighter note, some kind soul (who shall remain nameless) has forwarded me an e-mail with details of their forthcoming sale of a palm-pilot and a dvd writer:  Smile

Apart from that, no significant events have occured today.

How about your day?

Statistically, people who have had the most birthdays tend to live the longest.

I'm having a crap day, just like the last 3 days.

I should have been in Myrtle Beach all weekend, but thanks to some thieving b*****d who decided they wanted my wallet on Friday morning, I had to stay home, so I decided to come in work today and save my vacation day for another time.

I did get the wallet back minus about $100, but couldn't get on another flight without paying again for a new one way ticket, which would have been more than the roundtrip fare I paid.

My day has been pretty dull. I skipped my japanese class in order to try to get some studying done, but I haven't been able to hunker down and get anything done...

Oh well, tomorrow is another day, hopefully a better one...

Cheers
Mats

Sure, we're concerned for our lives. Just not as concerned as saving 9 bucks on a roundtrip to Ft. Myers.

Eating lunch before going into work. My back is killing me after moving a mountain of leaves this weekend-with more still to move, and piling up wood for the winter.

K-rap. Our opponents forfeited to us last night so I didn't get to curl. At work, I'm supposed to be running a project but one of my coworkers seems to be already doing so (while still referring to me as running it). The project is out of control with requirements and I am incredibly frustrated. I really wish I was still in consulting.

On the plus side, it's sunny today, and I curl tonight.

But that was when I ruled the world

It's 11:48 a.m. C.S.T. where I am (AL, USA). I'm off until tomorrow night  Smile.

I was suppossed to get a hair cut today but it's raining outside and I won't be able to (I have no car; don't need one)  Sad. I also have many dishes to wash and some cleaning up around here. I live alone in what one might call a "bachelor pad". I work about 70 hours a week which causes me to be too lazy to keep my place clean (a day off isn't really a day off  Sad ).

On a positive note, being single has its up side- no one to answer too Big grin

Good day  Smile

I have work-related post traumatic stress disorder. Got my first short-term disability check today...five months after filing the damned claim. Paid up the late mortgage and other bills. That was about 90% of my anxiety. Things are looking up.

Today has been wonderful.

The only negative part was the two features I have to write for tomorrow.

I'm pretty lucky.

I would have to say that today was a good day for me.

I was able to catch up on a lot of paperwork, though I still have much more waiting for me. I'm still about a week behind in my testing, but I was a month and a half behind not too long ago.

In Corrections we have a saying: Any day you get to walk out the front door is a good day.

I looked at my bank account this morning to find my back-dated salary increase was "omitted" so had to give the hard word to the man who should have ensured it was there.

Went to the dentist who bodged a deep filling and charged $150 for the priviledge, spent all day in agony but some work stuff slipped into place, my missing $$$'s got paid over (all good) and I got a late appointment at the dentist, got the tooth pulled out FOC but this meant I couldn't go fishing.

But hey, its warm and sunny, I am going to Macau in 2 1/2 weeks and there are cakes in the cupboard for tomorrow.

Musn't grumble (or I'll get called a whingeing Pom!), rather have a bad day in NZ than a good one in many other places I have been.

Jafa xx

Had a paper on the reasons for the development of the Common Law in 13th Century England due at, oh, 90 seconds ago, and despite spending the vast majority of the last week or so on it and quite a bit before that I was massively underprepared as of this morning. So today, I woke up, wrote my paper, went to a class, got a burrito at Chipotle, came back wrote the paper, and submitted it just before the deadline. That's it. It actually came together quite well in the last few hours, that's always nice.

For those of us who don't participate in this sport, this statement sounds just plain weird. I picture you doing some sort of a contortionist act or something.

My day is going very nicely. We're done with all our out-of-the-country trips now, and I've got two weeks of more or less interrupted work time now before we head back home to Los Angeles. So I'm at the British Institute in Firenze, working on a literature review for a paper I'm writing, taking a break right now to catch up on non-av.

Not only that, but I get to see my doggies very soon, and my Mommy is postponing Thanksgiving dinner until we get back. What more could a girl want?

Sick, sick, sick. As I'm a "permanent temp", I don't get paid if I have days off, so I am at work sick. What makes it galling at the moment is that my boss is off sick, meaning I can't get anything signed off and paid. My other boss (we're a team of three) is in Barcelona. As such, I am holding the fort, and yet have no authority to approve anything.

Makes things frustrating. Apart from that, I'm good as usual. I'd be a hell of a lot worse off if I didn't have Internet access  Smile

Well I have been having crap shitty days for a while now. You see the love of my life is currently all tucked up in bed all the way over in Sydney. She get's here on the 19th December stays for two weeks and we both head back to Oz together.

At the moment I am currently in work. I'm working for EI at the moment and I have to say that I am pulling my hair out. I'll be back in my chosen favoured field soon enough thank God.

All today has consisted of has been checking out Airliners.net, Posting on the forums. Dying for 17:30 to hurry up and diverting stupid Pax with stupid questions to somewhere a bit more relevant. Would you believe a guy called reservations this morning to ask what Aer Lingus meant. I mean c'mon it's first thing in the morning for Christ sake and you think Reservations have the answer. Use the internet you lazy sod. Some of the people that call here have the Iq of a peanut.

But hey as the hours wind down I can feel myself becoming somewhat more cheerful. Strange that.

Hope everyone else is having a great day.

Hey, I'm retired so my day is okay.

The bad news is - this is as good as it is ever going to get again!  Sad

I'm waiting for the day to warm up enough to go outside and work on my deck. If I did right now the screws would snap in half instead of driving.

Sorry amigo. We had one hell of a windstorm. If I'm any judge of current and you live east of me, those are probably my leaves. Check them for cedar shakes! Also I'm missing an anvil.

Happiness is not seeing another trite Ste. Maarten photo all week long.
