Through all this shouting, no matter what you feel, please give blood since they need it desperately in NYC! I'm going to give tomorrow after taking my youngest to day care. The place was swamped.

And get gas!! Rumors are that gas prices are going to skyrocket tomorrow!

WTF?
They didn't bomb anything that had to do with oil just the trade of it and that was only affected by like three bucks if I heard right.

I would like to give blood but you have to be 17. with all the propaganda saying to give blood, I as a healthy uninjured human being feel obligated to do so.

In many areas, you can donate at 16 years of age with parental permission. Look into that.

Would they let me donate with me living in the UK from January to May and eating beef there (with the mad cow stuff)?

With the gas thing the only reason the price is going up is a demand thing and they're trying to prevent a rush of people from storming the pumps by up-ing the price. There's no shortage really.

I figured all the idiots would be doing this so I got gas earlier today when the price was the same and there were no bs lines and topped up my tank with 3 gallons so I'm good for the next 300 miles.

I was concearned about the financial market though so took out $100 from the ATM but really I think this terrorist attack will have minimal effects on eastern Iowa where I'm at.

I stand corrected to a point. I heard on the Howard Stern Show, that there were reports of price gouging on gas and such, but it was isolated. The mayor of New York, the Great Rudy Guliani has taken measures to ensure that such nonsense does not happen in and around NYC.

As far as giving blood, I'm looking into that today.

As far as getting gas...NO. This is the very panicked reaction the terrorists want. I am totally disgusted with retailers, raising their prices to absurd levels because of this crisis, and dismayed at people's stupidity and herd-of-dumb-sheep mentality in rushing the gas pumps. THERE IS NO SHORTAGE!!!

BTW, the government issued a statement that retailers caught in price-gouging would be punished. In my book, taking advantage of a situation such as this should be SEVERLY punishable. After all, what is more important, a f***ing dollar or our national security???

The highest price in ND yesterday was $3.29. It has since fallen to near normal levels of $1.75.
