I'm looking to get myself 2 nice pairs of shoes, and I was wondering what people here are wearing and what they prefer. I've never exactly had taste in shoes or clothes (thank god I've had my girlfriend to dress me the last few years), but I imagine some people on this site do, so I was hoping I could get some opinions. I'm looking for a pair of sneakers to wear out to bars and such, something like some brown pumas, that look cool with a pair of jeans or pants, and also a pair of black dress shoes that are stylish but also comfortable... if you could include photos of your favorite shoes that fit these criteria, I'd really appreciate it, I recently turned 20 and it is time to be stylish and lose the grey sauconys that I've had for the last couple years... It's funny, living in miami I always just got away with wearing a pair of rainbow sandals, but now that I'm in boston for a semester I actually need to look at real shoes for the first time.

Converse Hi-Tops. Always a classic, and they feel great. Very mobile too!

I love my Ecco Neoflexors. The Best shoes I've ever owned.

That said, Converse All-Star hi tops will always feature in my wardrobe as well.

I get my shoes at the canoe docks of the local rowing club, thanks to my big feet.

Seriously, Puma is good, maybe Rockport for a bit more dressed up pair.

Well, if you still have your girlfriend, get her to choose shoes for you.  Wink If you want to be waaay different, do your back a favor, get shoes that are made with love and social conscience, and be as kewl as the Dalai Lama, you need a pair of Phönix http://www.gea.at/gehen/rechts_gehen_phoenix.html. I suggest this for the more casual style when you are at work and in your free time:

And for the more nicer events where you will wear a suit and very nice clothes I suggest these:

OYRJA, I like the first 2 pairs alot, but I think I'm a little hesitant to wear a pair of clog look-alikes made out of leather  Smile Thanks for the ideas everyone, I'm gonna try getting something on zappos.com soon, they seem to have good prices... by the way, anyone else here seen a thing called Crocs? They look kinda like those shoes OYRJA posted, but they're made out of rubber and have a moveable strap at the back and come in all sorts of weird colors. I can't stand those things! It might just be that my mom has a pair in hot pink, but they seem to be increasingly popular, and man are they ugly! Shame on all of these clog imitations!
