For those who follow Sailing:
It's a happy day for me! First time a Brazilian boat participates in the renowned race and we finished third place on the Vigo, Spain to CPT leg!
We were in second for a while, but lost ground to ABN AMRO TWO, who finished second place after it's sistership ABN AMRO ONE.
Curiosity: Embraer is a sponsor of the Brazilian team, Brasil 1. If you look at the front sail (what's the term in english for "front sail" anyone?) you will see their logo. Also on the hull.
Fourth place, Ericsson Racing Team, still has 76 nautical miles to go (as I type).
Two teams abandoned the race, movistar and Pirates of the Caribbean - who is sponsoring them? Disney??

I had a look at the website in the link, and part of it covers tourist information for Cape Town. One little paragraph disturbed me a bit....
The minibus-taxis cover the whole area of Cape Town. These nine-seater busses usually transport 12 persons. Many of the minibuses are old sometimes rickety, but a great way to meet the population.
BAD idea to get in one of these as a tourist! You want to meet the population, go to a pub, don't get in a crammed taxi that will not necessarily take you where you want to go!
After Monday and Tuesday even the calendar says WTF...
