Hi,

I was just wondering. Who has been to Sensation White (or Black) before? I wanted to go this year, but flight training took priority. I will try my best to make it in 2006. Those who have been, how is it? Mind you I live in Canada, so it'll be a long ride for me just for that party  Smile....

For those of you who don't know about it check out this page.

What is the expression? "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!" We can not have the same rights as straight though they want all of our toys........

Anyways... to stay on topic, yes I have been to Sensation White. I don't know what the line-up will be for 2006 yet, but I don't think they have ever disappointed the audience. It's a huge venue, so if you don't like being surrounded by 50 thousand other pary-goers, it's not the place for you. At Sensation white they play trancey music starting from very spacey soft trance, to slightly more uptempo trance towards the end. At Sensation balck (I have not been to this, but I always listen to it live over the internet) they start with techno or hardtrance and work their towards hardstlye. Black is very thumping music, so it depends what you like. I am more of a white guy when it comes to Sensation. Tickets are quite expensive and sell out extremely fast so be prepared to buy one as soon as the pre-sale starts. The visual effects at sensation are both breathtaking and goosebumb inducing. I have never seen something that amazing before in my life. It's all of course enhanced by the performers that lurk around and the special "themes".

Any other questions Vio? Feel free to ask  Smile

For some reason though, Dance Valley always has SHITE weather. I was covered to my knees in mud this year. Mystery Land is much better  Wink

I just don't see how this could be nice to attend...

1. It's in the Amsterdam ArenA which a lovely soccer stadium, but the acoustics SUCK BIG TIME!
2. Organized by ID&T  vomit
3. Music for the masses.

Just my very, very humble opinion...

They do certainly NOT! I've been there...

That's a personal preference and does not reflect anything on the event apart from an "opinion"

3. Music for the masses.

As with any other large music event  Wink

Fun to see I got the reaction I expected from the person I expected to react...  Wink

I think quite a few people back my thoughts on the acoustics in the Amsterdam ArenA, including the board of the stadium (no, not Ajax!) A few weeks ago, they announced to take measures to improve the acoustics there.

And yes, I agree the 2nd and 3rd remark in my previous reply are personal preferences. I just like to take every opportunity to bash this brainless music. Big grin

I remember that they had "complaints" about the accoustics back in 2000/2001, but since 2002 they have spent a LOT more money on the accoustics and if you've been there you will know that they certainly do not use the accoustics already installed in the stadium since these are shit. ID&T spends a fortune on sound engineers and sound equipment for the sound in the stadium, and I'm very happy to say that they got it right. But the fact that you are talking about the standard sound equipment in the stadium (which they do not use) proves my point. You haven't been to the event so don't criticise something you are not able to judge Big grin

I've been there at one concert voluntarely (Rolling Stones) and I've worked at some concerts in the ArenA. Furthermore I have worked at many 'raves' at several other places and I have been to many, many concerts, gigs, festivals.

So I think I can say something about the acoustics by experience. I don't think the Stones nor Bon Jovi use the standard equipment. To be honoust, the only reason why these bands choose the ArenA is because it's 'cheap' and close to Amsterdam. De Kuip in Rotterdam has better acoustics! And this is coming from an Ajax-fan!

Not really... ID&T brings in their own engineers and equipment so you cannot compare it to any other event.

The point is, that seems to be lost on most people, is that the White Party is a part of queer history. It's not some wannabe concert with bad accoustics.
