OK.. this is a thread for all those who are having a hard time finding that perfect gift for people in their lives. Take a moment, read through and if you can, help out your fellow a.netter by pointing them in the right direction to help them find the perfect gift!
I'll start: I'm having a hard time finding rubber mats for someone to equip a home bar. You know, those 1/2" thick rubber non-slick mats that they have at bars to contain the mess. Specifically, I'd like to find bar mats with logos on them such as Jack Daniels, Jim Beam, etc. I've done some search on Google and Froogle, but I'm having a hard time finding a decent selection of barmats for the home bar. I found a few possibilities in the UK, but that would be relatively expensive and I don't think it would make it in time for the holidays. Any ideas folks?

Steve, I've known those mats to just 'appear' in people's bedrooms the morning after a large night out, along with road cones, street signs, and a kayak (yes, a kayak!)... Of course, I am in no way supporting the theft of property...
Seriously though, have you tried asking your local bar where they get them from? They might be able to point you in the right direction, or even give you a pre-loved one (you never know your luck).

I would try a restaurant supply store. They're open to the public. (But logo'd merchandise would probably be supplied to the bars by the liquor companies, much like how the pads and pens with the name of your favorite drugs are in ample supply at your doctor's office.)

Well now I need some help buying a gift!
I'm buying a set of noise canceling Bose headphones for a friend for Christmas who travels a lot. I rarely use the IFE on planes unless I'm flying United, then I use the seat back headphones they provide to listen to Channel 9, so I'm not really up on all the latest gadgetry.
In the description of the headphones, it says they include an adapter plug for two-pronged outlets on some aircraft. This I don't ever recall running across. I remember in the days that airlines were transitioning from the old tube-type connection, there'd occasionally be an outlet for a one-prong mini-jack size in the seat panel.
So my question is, will a one-prong mini-jack with a two-prong adapter be enough for most major airlines, or should I consider buying something else to go along with it? If it makes any difference, he usually flies UA and CO, but also occasionally flies non-US carriers out of JFK to Europe and South America.
