Not me!!! I remember making a concerted effort years ago to find a new job when I found I was due to be on shift Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day...luckily I succeeded...I would NEVER work Christmas Day!

I'm with Alex.

I'll be on duty . . . running the night desk . . . even if I'm scheduled for Christmas off, I'll take someone's shift so they can be home. Christmas never did turn me on . . . .

Yep, the 0600-1400 shift on Christmas. But then I have the rest of the day to spend with family, so it's fine. I also won't go back to work until New Year's Eve, which makes it a good day. Gotta use up the vacation days by the end of the year  Smile

Working 2200-1000 on 24,25,26 December.

I love Christmas and it sucks but by us going to work a large number of people can fly safely to see their friends and family.

Kind of takes up the idea of selfless giving doesn't it?

I used to work Christmas every year, and I never did much mind it. Since I worked as a veterinary technician at the time (wow... it seems like a lifetime ago), it always turned out that people were thrilled we were on duty. Usually, it ended up being one of the nicer days of the year.

Nowadays I'm off half the month of December, but I'll raise a toast to those of you who are keeping us safe and getting us home for the holidays...  champagne

I was just thinking about that today. We gotta set something up... did you plan out the trip already, or do you still have time to get together?

Well technically yes and no, I have the stand-by phone all this week and next week, and must be ready to be in the office in less than half an hour, you never know when one aircraft is gonna go AOG (or when one airline does not have any idea how to fix something  irked  ).

And it's freaking freezing in Toulouse....

At last. I am not. I worked enough Christmas'. My 2003 Christmas dinner was a box of frozen Banquet Fried Chicken and a Big Gulp from 7-11.

At least this year, I get a home cooked meal in my own home. And I am on vacation until Tuesday anyway.
