Just been having a chat with some fellow members on chat and MSN.. And also saw that BA are having a sale....

We thought about Hosting a YYZ meet up in April... Now this is still in guidelines, But it could be possible as this is a cheap time to fly...

So would anyone be interested?, personally I am seriously looking into it, Its one place I have wanted to Visit for a long time and I can finally Get that Long haul Experience! But will take a lot of planning!  Silly

So what you think? Give me your feedback! :P

Did you have any particular dates in mind? I will be in New Jersey the first weekend in April, so it is possible that I might be able to come up to Toronto before heading home to Seattle.

Good luck. If 30 YYZ members commit, maybe five will show up, and they'll be an hour late.  Wink Make sure you get a hamburger at Mr. Tasty, though. BTW, April at YYZ will feel cold to you Brits.

Logan, i know ure still pissed bout last time, but Canada is pretty big with cities few and far between. I was called into work at the last minute so i couldnt attend the last meet....but at least with this much advance notice ppl can check dates etc and attend or schedule it in. I for one will put in my request at the beginning of jan after my hols, just in case it's a go. Hope to see you there and sorry bout last time.

Cheers

Hmmm, April is pretty much the yuckiest month of the year here in Soviet Canuckistan... I guess that's why the fares are so low. Oh well - it'll still be awesome to have a little Brit invasion!

As for me, the later it is in April, the more likely I could attend (school ends mid-April).

You know, SkySurfer, I'm not pissed at all. I had a great time, but I would have liked to meet so many more who seemed to be committed to it. Sorry things got mucked up for you last minute. That said, I'm off to LAS in March, and hopefully AMS in the later spring, so YYZ probably won't happen next year. Have a great time, though. The locals are very good people. Bring loonies and toonies, eh?

Happy Christmas!

I'm going to be away most of early to mid April in MAH I think, although that is flexible, and then the weekend at the end of April is also taken up by an exhibition I will be showing at. I'm on a fairly tight budget, but so long as I can make the entire trip, including seeing a good bit of that area of Canada for under say £500 then I'm game! If we can decide on a date fairly soon so I can start to organize things, looked at a few fares and they are around the £280-300 mark, so not too bad.

I could maybe pull it off . I have to be in YUL in early April and off for a BIG vacation(10th anniversary cruise) April 18th through May 1. I might look into renting a car or try to sort out fares on AC. I have to go through YYZ anyway and all the a.neters from YYZ seem pretty cool. And meeting some UK a.netters to boot! So many meets, and I want try to do at least Farnborough and Toronto would be cool too! Big grin

Hmmm, well April in YYZ isn't as bad as indicated above. April in fact can be quite pleasant. Also, April or May is when all the charters start up again, and loads are crappy to say the least. You can often find fares of under $400 CAD return, including taxes! My suggestion is to look at late April, or early May, and of course I'll do my best to help out as usual if this goes through.
