I know, and don't care that many of you don't follow this series, but it is the most played rivalry in the history of College Basketball. Today Oregon State and Oregon face off in the 324th renewal of this storied rivalry. Just like in football, this is the only set of games that matter this much to the kids.

Let's go Beavs!

This is the 324th time they have played basketball against eachother....

That's why it's called the 324th Civil War.

Well, how many times do they play each other a year? If they play each other that much it can't be all that great.

Just what we need, a thread about 2 mediocre teams.

Portland/Portland State would be a better game at this point!

Just what we need, a tool to come in here and talk down a school with one of the most storied programs in NCAA history.

Tell me, are their basketball uniforms as visually offensive as their football unis? Big grin

How is that possible, considering basketball wasn't invented until the late 1800's? Anyway, congratulations to Oregon on a nice win.

Who exactly is 'we'. That constitutes 2 or more people. I think you're the only one that gives any semblance of a shit about this.

I would not exactly call them storied programs.

Yes. They are.

*sigh* Again, they place twice a year, Sometimes three times if they meet in the conference tournament. Simple math.

You are the definition of east coast bias. You truely are. Anything west of the Mississippi, and it can't possibly live up to the "greatness" of east coast teams.

He goes to Wisconsin, I wouldn't exactly call that an east coast bias. Cheese heads really haven't caught on out here.  Wink

HAHHAA! How can you put that on 'east coast bias'. Thats a figment of your imagination for you to think the pac 10 is anywhere near the best. I just dont think that 2 shit teams who can't beat portland and portland state deserves a thread!

Conference tourney is a new idea. There has to be a point in history where they were playing more than 2 times a year.

Quiz time:

Who was Ralph Miller?

Which school has the 13th most winningest program in NCAA history?

Which school did Gary Payton, AC Greene, Mell Counts, and countless other stars go to? (This one is kinda easy....)

Who was "Slats" Gill?

I know he gets as much praise for his work in the Big 10 and outside of Oregon than at Oregon St. And his NCAA tourny appearance wasn't at O St.

#13 surely surely doesn't make them "one of the most storied."

What are you saying exactly??

Ralph Miller took Oregon State to the final four....Or did you know that???

It does with Sports Illustrated and ESPN say that it is.....As well as other big programs around the nation.
