Any other cities have major New Years Eve incidents, like Paris???
""Rowdy revelers in France torched 425 vehicles overnight in scattered New Year's Eve unrest that has become an annual problem in troubled neighborhoods, the national police chief said Sunday. Last year, 333 cars were burned.""
Seems rather stupid to torch your own shit? Rather like rioting after winning the World Series!
Well, at least this time there's a common denominator . . .

Reminds me of the Rodney King riots in LA . . . what would possess one to destroy one's own neighborhood? I mean, hell, if you're in that bad a mood, head on up to Hollywood and Vine and torch a really cool store or something?
This sort of thing never made sense to me. Regardless of the cause . . . destruction of property doesn't seem to win many friends in any corner and doesn't appear to lead to resolution of the problems . . . or bring supporters to your cause in a great hurry.

We've got our own miscreants in my own neighborhood. Over the fireworks, you could plainly make out the sounds of gunfire. Dumbasses shooting guns into the air. There's always two or three people in the Atlanta who end up getting by the bullets shot in the air by these morons. And it happens at public gatherings as well. So much so that some folks joke about "I wonder what the over/under is on people getting hit by bullets shot into the air @ the Peach Drop?".

Quoting ANCFlyer (Reply 3): Reminds me of the Rodney King riots in LA .
Yep, you never see the residents of Bel Air burning their local Safeway do you? I've never understood that at all except maybe the stores are owned by people who don't live there?
