in a way but only a kid sort of way

well my dad had recently purchased me a 500 pound bike of which i was so proud to have i treated it like a million pounds and i went round at the time a good friends house and we were standing in his garage
my bike was against the wall and behind it was my other mate's (his brother) old bike that we took apart for the fun of it
anyway i taped my mates old bike and we all saw that it was moving my bike so like non of us even bothered to go near it
anyway the guy booted the wheel of his bike which rammed mine which then made my bike fall down but in the process catching something making a 2 foot scratch in it on this blue bike which made it real obvious.
so im standing there and turn round and wack him one in the face and he looked suprised at it and went in. we had spent a couple of weeks bording half of the frames for the garage up so we could all chill up there. so me and the other mate went up there because we were bored and as i was hanging over the edge i saw the idiots bike lying on the floor so i paid my mate 2 pound to lob a metal hammer from 15foot up onto his bike and when it did it left a huge dent in it yet i didnt feel satisfied so what we done is we dried out all the chain to make it rust away and then oiled all the brakes so that it didnt stop them and then we let enough air out of the tyres so that if he leaned over he would fall off lol
this was after i found out he rid to school.. so when he did he fell off etc so now he always has to spend an extra hour at school to wait for his bro to finish (he does alot of after school clubs)

so i made his life hell sitting around with all the little kids
i also made alot of people turn against him at his skool as i had some connections their and made him basically have 1 friend out of everyone he knows

i love revenge even if its silly stuff like that!

o yeh i done this so that they couldnt prove it was me as they kept asking around who done it

I don't necessarily get revenge, I get even and, I use my wit and humor. A lot of time with shitty passengers, I give them the last row of the plane etc. Otherwise, I try to forgive and forget if at all possible.

I usually get my revenge. I don't go for the obvious types of physical revenge or "in your face" type stuff. I usually go for the secret stuff that really pisses people off.

Broken windows
Flat tires
Report to certain agencies
Theft
etc

I never tell anyone about it and I never let the person know it was me.

Hi,
I try not to respond to people when they annoy me as I feel that if I do anything I will be just as bad as the other person. I have got a story which kind of links in but it is not me giving out the revenge. In my secondary school, there was a person who used to hate me (I hated/hate him just as much), he used to be very aggressive/ bully me and only had a few friends. The few he had were around him for the money his family had. Well I did nothing and just let him be aggressive etc (I told my friends about it though) and now he is at college, he is the one being bullied by other people and I have no bullies. It is great when the tables turn, even indirectly.

Matt

P.S I do not know the people that are bullying him and only know he is being bullied because I once spoke to a friend who also goes to the college. I have also thankfully never seen him since I left school. LOL I promise i can write a reply better than this as even in my own head it sounds like the writtings of Vicky Pollard.

Here's the story....well, one of them.

Back when I was in high school nobody took bullying very seriously except the kids whose asses were getting kicked regularly. Anyway, I was one of them until my junior year when I snapped-yes, this actually happened. I whaled the tar out of one of the toadies-the bullies' second line hangers ons-and nobody ever laid a glove on me after that.
It was a hard lesson to learn but it stood me in good stead-if a man can't stand up for himself he ain't worth much and he's gonna have to take what he gets. Show some spine and doors will open for you, I'm here to tell you.

Well....I am nearly sixty now and I remember these people and their names. I comb the obituaries for their names now.

Anyway....back about 1978, a friend of mine, JR, had married Debbie A. She had a brother named Gordon a/k/a "Gumby". He'd been picked on unmercifully and so had a number of their friends by the bully cabal at the high school we'd all attended some 12 years prior. In particular one BF had made Gordon's life hell. So one night a bunch of folks were sitting around talking about how miserable life had been back then. Someone said "Let's go kick BF's ass."
It was the matter of a few minutes to get his address out of the phone book and load the jury in a car.

Gordon knocked on the door, BF answered it and there and then his ass got stomped by the jury in front of his wife and kids. It was a long time coming.

His post reminded me of this article from the BBC news about the decline of spelling, grammar and punctuation due to the use of text and instant messaging, spell checkers and e-mail:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/2814235.stm

Suffice it to say that someone scratched James' bike so he took revenge.

Here's my interpretation of what may have happened:
  • James paid a friend to throw a hammer on the perpetrator's bike from a fort they built above his garage

  • They also rusted up the chain on the perp's bike, oiled the breaks and flattened the tires

  • Because of this the perp fell off the bike while riding it some point later on

  • Due to some character assassination courtesy of James, the perp has only one friend left at his school

  • The victim also has to wait for his brother to finish afterschool activities every day so is stuck sitting around with little kids who bother him (I have no idea what that has to do with anything, but it was there)

  • So far, the bike scratcher has no idea it was James behind all this misery beset upon him
At least that's what I got out of it. Anyone care to take a crack at it?

Anyway, back to the topic. I don't take revenge per se, but have been in situations where karma has reared it's ugly head on those who have trespassed against me. In those situations I'm only too happy to let them deal with the consequences of their actions, and that in itself is enough revenge for me.

Here's one that might take the cake? As such:

When I was in grammar school, there was this kid, TB, who was like 4'8" in 8th grade and the popular, very large kids made fun of him. Well, TB had a special talent and that was software programming and hardware engineering. This being the mid-80s, he was poised to do quite well if he stuck with it. Well, he did, invented a neat piece of code, and at 25 built himself a 4-flat (paid cash for the land and paid off 50% of the mtg in 3 mos.) and bought a condo in Florida.

Any rate, 11 years later he became my mortgage client and he told me that he was walking down the street in front of the police station and saw the police escort his chief bully, AW, into the station handcuffs and all. So, he posted his bail. Talk about humility! And it just goes to show you: revenge is best served cold.

Something did happen to me once that made me want to get revenge quite badly. Unfortunately, I wanted revenge against an organization/institution (not the police or government or anything like that though), as opposed to wanting revenge against a specific person.

I could not, at the time, think of any effective revenge method that would not have been highly illegal, and even all of those methods would, in addition to having been very illegal, have done more harm than good and ended up being pointless anyway. So I never got my revenge, although I did remain pissed about what happened for a long time.

I really don't care now. Although what happened did make my life more miserable than necessary for about 6 years, things have since turned out alright despite that, and there's not usually much point in dwelling on or getting pissed about the past in situations like this. Also, nobody did this to me "on purpose" (so to speak); it was one of those bureaucratic things in which I am quite sure that no individual meant to do me (or anyone) any harm.

Interestingly enough, the institution in question has fallen upon hard times financially in the last two years and may soon cease to exist. This would have been great news to me some 4-8 years ago, as it would have provided the revenge I wanted in a way that I could never have personally engineered. At present, however, I am not so sure that I would even like to see them cease operations. Although what happened to me certainly wasn't this way, I suspect that the organization does more good than harm all told.

I hadn't actually thought about this organization in a long time until I read this thread. As I mentioned, I seriously wanted revenge against them for at least 4 years, and to some extent for more like 6. It is interesting to see what happens to the desire for revenge once one grows up a bit, and also now that the fucking-over I received from them is no longer having any effect on my life  Smile.

I didn't do it for revenge or anything like that; in fact, I actually liked the guy upon whose stuff I vomited. It just happened that I had the stomach flu and didn't know it (until then!) He was not especially popular though, so everyone seemed to think I had done it to piss him off.  Yeah sure

I know kids are vicious during those years, but geez! What kind of a plan is throwing up on someone's stuff, on purpose, just because you don't like him?  Confused

When I was a freshman in high school, this big senior used to harass me and a few other freshmen. He beat me up once or twice. Considering his size (around 6 foot and a pretty solid 200 pounds, I would guess), there was no way I could get him back physically.

So I torched his prize posession - his brand new Ford pickup. He never did find out who did it - he had plenty of enemies, and none of the dozen or so people who knew what I had done ratted on me.
