I'm in one of those pompous, self centered moods right now. But I also feel that I can turn this into a humorous, win-win situation.

as many of you know, I've abandoned the airliner hobby (I'll stick around for the non-av topics) and I'm unloading all of my airline related items. I've already sold numerous Gemini jets and Dragon Wings on E-bay.

Now, I'll see if i can give one of them away. Someone will be lucky, but will have to "pucker up" and stoop down so to speak to get it.

So here goes.

I'll offer my Dragon Wings Braniff Int'l 747-200 "Big Orange" 1:400 scale model to whoever can tell me, in more than 100, but less than 500 words why you think I'm the coolest guy on Airliners.Net.

I'm pathetic.

But nobody says I'm not an equal opportunity guy. If no one impresses me with something good, then I'll offer the same prize to whoever can write the funniest and best reason why I'm the WORST guy here on Airliners.Net.

Enjoy....

Well, if you really want me to say what I think...

You are the type of man that every woman fears- disrespectful, arrogant and self-centered. You have no sympathy for others but yourself and you schadenfreude (It's in the dictionary- To take pleasure in someone else misfortune) quite a lot. However, you bitch and moan how you can't find a girl- This is why! So long, farewell, I know i'm not going to win, but I just needed to get that off my chest.

Why is MattD the coolest guy on A.net? Because everyone hates him, but the same people respect him. Its one thing to be hated, but to be respected by your enemies is admirable. MattD bucks the norm. In a confident way he rejects the social norm of "touchy-feely". Not only does he make you think objectively, he pisses you off so greatly that you provoke yourself to think intellegently, in order to maintain some kind of credibility within the issue. Anyone can spew forth their opinions, but few people with such intellect that the opinions can be taken as fact without room for much discussion. Common sense will do this to you. Despite the hardened shell, deep inside MattD is a compationate, sympathetic human being. Because most people are superficial with these characteristics, MattD chooses to hide most appearances of affection, because he refuses to be seen by anyone as fake. As a result of his unique personallity, he has positively influenced everyone that visits the forums in one way or another.

-----------

i better get soemthing, cuz that was a huge chunk of ass i just kissed...

-----------

why is mattd the worst member on A.net? One number "3379" this is how many posts he has made. Certainly there are better ways to productively spend one's life than sitting in front of a computer for such extended periods of time. Not just sitting in front of a computer screen, but getting some kind of sedistic pleasure in pissing as many people off as he can. He has created a hostile environment in the forums which would otherwise be vast fields of healthy discussion. Heartless, arrogant, and egotistical can only begin to describe this miserable person.

enjoy

CHRIS

Damn...Chris....that was good.

That will be a tough act to follow.

By the way, most of the time I spend here is while I am at work. Sometimes it gets pretty slow and boring around here (such as today). Since I have to put in my 10 hours each day, and it's not always busy, I'll kill time on the site.

I rarely, if ever visit the site once my work day is over or on my days off.

Let me tell you this Matt D.

Your not the coolest guy on airliners.net. You shun down peoples opinions, people who are younger then you, well forget about it. I think you are trying to hard to be the coolest guy on airliners.net. If I was to pick the coolest guy, I would have to pick Superfly or that Delta 727 Pilot, I forgot his name. But the props always goes out the ladies...Sophie, you may not know me or anything, but you bring alot of people to these forums just because they want to hear what YOU say. That must make you feel pretty damn good.

some rational thinking here, okay, this site is 98% young, single, horny-as-hell males, ANY damn woman will capture the adoration and attention of the guys, quite honestly it doesnt matter what the hell a girl says here, all us guys with our dicks in our hands will foam at the mouth when she says it...

Come on!! the women rule the non-aviation forum and theres only like 3 of them!

be a man! where are your balls?!?!!!!

--Well, Matt, you are the collest guy on A.net b/c you aren't afraid to wear boots with socks hanging out of the tops, while wearing shorts. Though you like women, you aren't afraid to treat them how they should be treated (meaning, when you had that good looking chick for a waitress, and she was being a bitch, you flat out let it be known you didn't like her attitude, where as most guys would just be like, oh well, she's a hot girl, she can have that attitude. Which is wrong of most guys.). But, if a girl deserves to be treated well, you do. You do seem to have a good sense of humor, and dont really seem to be too stuck on what people thing of you (which can be a good thing, but, bad at times). It doesm't see you are too afraid to speak your mind, when needed. I have had my problems with you in the past (I believe, i really dont remeber.) And you are cool b/c you have given up on the whole aviation hobby thing (as have I!!). I really dont care about aviation as a whole any more, i just enjoy flying. I havn't posted in the Aviation forum for a long time now, and only use A.net for hte non-av. forum, and the chat (I am an evader!). So, I think that pretty much sums it up why I think you are the coolest guy on A.net. And you are SO much better than Superfly, for sure.
(I also could care less about getting that model, I dont even know what kind it is! LOL)

According to MS Word, its 258 words.

Well I'd have to say that Derek H wins for best "kiss" and I like to fly definitely wins for originality.

Since I'm disposing of the models, I'll give two of them:

One will be the Braniff 747, and the other will be a Delta MD-11.

I'll let the two of you duke it out to see who gets what.

Both of you please e-mail me privately so we can arrange the shipping.

By the way, the reason I'm abandoning the hobby is that because of last weeks events. The new "security" measures have pretty much spelled the end of spotting, photos, gate access, and such indefinitely, if not, then forever.

What fun will the hobby be then? Why keep reminders of it around me? I'd rather take all that I've collected, offer it to someone who still wants it, and turn it into some quick cold cash (which I have done handsomely so far).

Dear Matt D,
Congratulations on your decision. However, I would beg you to reconsider your choice for the reasons I state below. While well thought out and certainly weighed within the criteria you clearly made available, I feel you made this decision in haste. There is no doubt in my mind that you struggled with your choices and while the final decision was good, I do not feel it was the most advantageous. I am corresponding, unbeknownst to Chris28_17, on his behalf. Chris has always been a fair-minding forum member with high standing. He always supports his fellow members when necessary without ever compromising his own opinions and beliefs. And when Chris disagrees with the nature of one's content, he is tactful, respectful and always supplies a plausible purpose. I think Chris is one of the most underrated members here, and it is my opinion that he was overlooked for this reason. Please reconsider your choice. As a fair-minded individual myself, I will respect and support your decision, despite the outcome. Thank you for your time. Good day.

Stupid question, but if you give up your hobby, why bother visitting the non-av forum of this site any more? After all, it is the non-av forum for people who LIKE PLANES. If you dismiss our common hobby and passion, then there's lots of other forums around. Who knows, maybe there is a "fuel truck driver" forum somewhere and you can build up a fan group there....  Big grin

Or maybe you could start collecting stamps, coins, American flags or Republican Party stickers or something, and find an adequate forum for "Being Offensive Enthusiasts" and win a prize there.... and don't forget to take N400QX, Derek G and Twotterwrench with you  Acting devilish

(I suppose I am always a bit too optimistic, huh?)

Now now ikarus thats not very nice, we should all play nice while the world is in crisis.

A lot of people do not post very oftern on the civil aviation, there are some peopel in the non-aviation who i have never seen post in the civil aviation forum.

I wuld beg Matt D to reconsider, I think in five years tiem security will be relaxed in america again, it always happens.

Pax will get the hump over wiaitng longer and civil liberities groups will start complaining 18 months from now.

No terrorist is going to use plnes, there is too mcuhr isk, in five years people will forget and in the name of libirty and the dollar security ill be lax.

one thing matt, I live in the UK, we have stricter security than the USA, I have never had a problem.

also look at the israelie posters, israel has stricter conditions tan the uk and you still have people posting.
