Will still play domestic games. Quite sad really given the current form and depth of the side, and the fact that the world cup is next year.

Still he has great reasons to move on. I certainly rate him as one of the better captains in the time that I have been watching rugby.

Has to be Richie McCaw to replace him surely.

Tana was a great captain for you Kiwis! This is actually a huge loss. I know the press credited the first two test wins over the lions to Dan Carter but he is the man who broke them early. Just ask a certain Mr. O'Driscoll.

Sadly for NZ this is another case of them peaking between world cup years. All the better for my Springboks!

A sad situation for NZ rugby. He was a great player and seemed like a great leader off and on the field.

he will be missed but I'm sure there are other guys there that are mature and experienced enough to take the reigns of AB captaincy!

BTW, does anyone know if Jonah Lomu is making a return in Super 14 this year?

I heard something on TV about it.

Maybe he did it because he couldn't handle losing to the aussies again?  duck

He's been playing a few games in the Celtic League over here. Whether he's going back to NZ at the end of the season, I'm not sure.

He hasn't done that well, but the fact that he's playing at all is something to take pleasure in.

They have dissapointed as World Cup chokers in the past, however they seem to have built better depth in the squad now so the peak is more likely to last. Not much leadership depth though with only one obvious captain option now.

It's been a little while I doubt he can remember it!! The way the Wallabies are playing at the moment I would imagine he has more cause to fear the Toowoomba Boys High 2nd XV!!

I think Jonah has had his day - good on him for getting back on the field though.

Sad to see Tana go, but I am sure there'll be another captiain to lead the team, and hey - it takes the whole team to win...

There goes the housewives choice, Mrs Jafa never watched so much rugby as when Tana was da man, that's true of all the females in my organisation "He's so cute" they would all croon.

So..I'm jealous, I'll admit it!!

When you are that famous in a country, some one is bound to find you remotely good looking  Wink

I just saw a ting on the news a few weeks ago about Jonah playing a 80minute game for the blues in a pre season. Thats why I asked.
