Well...the topic is farely self-explanatory.

How many of you lurked around the forums for years before becoming a member?
How many of you became a member the day you discovered the website?

I discovered A.net whilst searching for plane pictures on Google. I must have browsed through thousands of pictures before finally discovering...the forums.

Tell us your stories about discovering A.net.

I found a.net when looking for a photo to use as a background on my computer before my first trip to St. Maarten. One of my friends who'd been there before told me about the landings, and I went looking for possible photos and hit the jackpot. It wasn't until a year or so later that I even discovered the forums and joined up a few months later.

I'm love photography. I love flying. One day, I entered "Airline Pictures" into Yahoo! and this came up. The rest is history. This was back in 2003. But I only joined in past few months.

A friend and I were looking for pictures of an ONA Electra for a mutual friend who had flown them. We found airliners.net but they didn't have such a picture in the database. They do now.

Later a commercial artist applying for a job at an airline where I worked used a video presentation that included toggle switches to select the various parts of it. He'd gotten the idea from this site's old home page.

I've been a regular here since then.

I saw it mentioned in an article about different websites that appeared in the newspaper "USA Today". I checked it out immediately, got hooked on the NEWS section, and eventually discovered the forums, so I joined.

I was on a week-long exchange with the Air Cadets to Inuvik, Northwest Territories back in 2002. A couple of my friends were looking through the site in the small library up there, and so when I got home I checked it out a bit more, and now here I am.

I just checked and saw that I've been here since June 2000! It didn't seem THAT long ago...but given all that has happened to me since, I guess it has been a while..

I was looking for some info about either seating on a plane or info about an airport or something like that...I ended up here via some search engine...and stayed away from Non-Av for first 2-3 yrs as I recall...as was just needed info...Seems that I went to FlyerTalk or similar also...

Now that I basically don't fly anymore, since I left the corporate life, this forum is better suited to my needs now...

Kinda funny because I used to think that only the forums on the homepage were available....little did I know there were LOTS MORE! Sooooo, one night I finally decided to join.......
