This seemed like a good idea at first, but now I and others are too lazy to rate posts. Does anyone even care that a post is rated? Only 8 posts on this page are rated. Does anyone feel that the post rating feature is unnecesary. I don't want to cause havoc, I am just stating my opinion.

AIRLINERS.NET CREW SITE ADMIN
Yeah, let me know what you guys think. If most of you are against it, we might remove it. Any suggestions for some other form of post rating or do you think the field with the number of views is enough?
Thanks,
Johan
Working on the site from morning 'till night that's livin' alright (1997-2007)

I think that this might work. Put a form at the bottom of the page making it a required field to rate a post. You click in the little circle and it fills it in. You know what I mean? I think that this could work.

I just ignore the stars. The number of views is all the info I need, but I rarely even look at that unless it is my post. I open topics with one star all the time and ignore others with 5 all the time too. Just my opinion and it doens't bother me at all if it stays or goes. Well just letting you know what I think.

I don't rate posts or even glance at the stars. I just don't really see the point. If I see a topic that is interesting, I'll open it up and read it. I don't care how many stars ar there or how many aren't.

I have never understood it to be honest.
I meen some topics looks like they get rated of how many that have been reading it, instead of how good it in fact is.
I posted a topic in the military forum, and it got one star! For what I asked myself. It was really nothing very important, and not that many did read it either.
Naahh.....skip it Johan.
Well, that's my opinion.

I use it occasionally. If I see a post that I think is trivial or stupid, and has a lot of stars by it, I'll rate it a 1. If I see a post I think is really interesting, I rate it a 5. I don't think I've ever rated a post a 2, 3, or 4 though. Most posts I don't rate at all and the number of stars by a post is not the criteria I use in determining whether or not to read it.
