Is there really a big difference between the Superbowl and this:

Who do they have to have a week off between the Championship game and the Super Bowl? Every time that they do, the Super Bowl ends up being incredibly lopsided. And every time that they don't, it's a good game.

Quoting StevenUhl777 (Reply 7): Oh wait...there's a LOT more people watching, and Super Bowl fans are louder and are much more into whatever the hell you posted there.
They don't sell beer at that.

Well, I've got to throw my support behind the Steelers for this game. I've been a Steelers fan for as long as I've liked football (only about 10 years albeit) but I have a feeling this is the year for Betis. The way the Steelers have been able to adapt their game to the different teams is admirable. I think it should be a good game though, Hassleback is no doubt an amazing quarterback and more agile than Rothlesburger.

I'll be sitting reserve in DTW over Super Bowl Weekend, so I might drive down to Ford Field for all the prebowl stuff, if i'm not out on a trip. Anyone up for a mini meet in DTW that weekend?

IIRC, each of the Patriots last three SB wins included a two-week gap, and all of them were great games. They all came down to the final play/drive.

That's wierd, because if I remember correctly, they were all one-week gaps.
EDIT: Ok, I did some research into this:
Prior to 1999, they were all two-week gaps (as far back as 1994 - I didn't go further back than that).
1999: one week gap, 23-16 St. Louis beat Tennessee by barely stopping the Titans just one yard short of tying the game as time ran out.
2000: two week gap, Baltimore blows out the Giants 34-7.
2001: was supposed to be two weeks, but became a one week gap because of 9/11 pushing the whole season back one week, and Patriots won 20-17 over St. Louis on a last second field goal.
2002: one week gap, and Tampa Bay blew out Baltimore 48-21.
2003: two week gap, and New England beat Carolina 32-39 on a last second field goal.
2004: two week gap, and New England beat Philadelphia 24-21, stopping the Eagle's last ditch effort with an interception.
So I guess it doesn't make that much of a difference, though I do prefer having only one week off. The Super Bowl is hyped enough already, and that extra week brings the hype to an almost sickening level.
