I don't care how talented this guy is, he's T.O. in basketball gear. I wouldn't give him the time of day. It's only a matter of time till old Ron blows up on the Left Coast.

Yeah, Texan, I'm of the same opinion. Gives them some punch from the perimiter. I think in the long run it's a steal.

While I was surprised by the deal, it does make a tiny bit of sense.....Artest is under contract for two more years (not that that means anything these days), while Stojakovich is a free agent after this year. Also, Peja fits in a little better with Indiana's slow-down game, while Artest can run the floor better with the track meet known as the Western Conference.

My only complaint is.....as long as Artest was heading west, he should have ended up a few hundred miles further north.....don't most of the NBA head cases end up in Portland?  wink .

The deal will not happen. Artest said he doesn't want to play in Sacramento, and the Kings have since rejected the trade. It's a wonder they wanted it in the first place.

In other words, he's pulling a "T.O."...

You have to admit though, when he is in the right frame of mind, there
isn't a better one on one defender in the league. I was pissed when
the Bulls traded him. On the other hand the Pacers really upgraded their
team.

Jpetek was spot on. The deal fell through.

Artest is a nut case. Hopefully the Pacers can find a way to legally break his contract and be done with him. And then hopefully *NO ONE* in the NBA will be dumb enough to ever pick him up on a contract.

Let him teach basketball lessons at the YMCA after school for the next thirty five years or so.

PIA777, while I certainly agree with you about his talents, I was glad to see him go..he was too disruptive....

on a side note, I was fortunate to go see the Bulls during the MJ years and even got to go when they beat Portland in the 1992 finals......was at the game when they won their 2nd championship.... biggrin  biggrin

Very cool. I was very fortunate to see Jordan also, I also remember
the years before Jordan when we were not so good. Don't get me wrong.
I would not want him back. I don't think he plays with a full deck of
cards. He needs Help.
