How much would you ordinarily spend while out of an evening? I normally spend £20-30 on a 'full' night, including drinks, taxi, entry fees and sometimes food.

I don't normally drink that much - a few pints, perhaps some shots and bottles - and I don't normally get drunk or that drunk.

I used to go out and blow a ton at least, but put those days behind me now

It's so long since I've had a full night out including going to a club, I wouldn't know how much I would spend, but I used to spend £45 easily. I think because I used to live in Spain and liking Spanish prices for drinking put me off spending stupid amounts of money in the UK. In Spain, I could get pissed on £10.

Not at all. Sensible, I think.

I still manage to have a good amount of drinks but without the need to get drunk or that drunk.

While at university, I could have a lot of drinks and food and spend less than £20 (I didn't need a taxi).  Smile

Around £50 if it's to the city centre and taxi's are involved, or £30 if it's a stroll into the village.

£30-£40 on a regular night. Last nite I was designated driver. So only spent £10 for a bottle of coke, crisps, and an overpriced kebab (which never tastes as good when sober)...

Usually I only go to a pub, with a couple of friends, so I can get away with spending less then £10. Only once been on a proper night out, went in a club, hated it, and won't go to another in a hurry! That night cost me about £40.

About 300-400 C$. So about 150-200 pounds. But I live in deep deep suburbia so the cab alone is $60.

I'm just gald I don't live in Norway! I went out with some friends and I'll tell you what drinking is not cheap in Oslo!

A full blown night out in Brighton involves setting aside £40+ for a taxi home for a start, so God knows how much it comes to overall. Well over £100 I would think. Thank God for the change in licensing laws, I can get quietly pissed in one of the village pubs instead.

£40 for the taxi???! Gees. Well, I occasionally pay £20 if I go out to a near-by town.

Last night, it cost £6.15 for the taxi - and it took 5 minutes! The pick-up rate was £3.75 (!). A couple of years' ago, the same journey at the same time cost under £4.

Tell me about it. Brighton's only about 9 miles way too. If there are two or three of you, it's about bearable, but if you get separated - and you always do - then you have to pay for the lot, usually up front too.

The cost of getting a taxi round here is, shall we say, a topic of conversation.  mad

Hmmm, one night in Manhattan one time set us back 400 dollars. That was bit much, and all of that was spent at one bar, China Grill was the name.

I think normally, a "regular" night out would set me back about 50 bucks. But if I'm going to Atlantic City, we're talking a good 200 dollars.

I don't go to Atlantic City that often though.
