It has almost been three weeks since we all woke up the the horid images of airplanes crashing into the World Trade Center. So I thought It would be nice to put together a little photo tribute of the glory which once stood...

i tell you what, and this is something i realized as soon as it had happened, the cliche "you don't appreciate it until its gone", well i think everyone here did appreciate the WTC, and now that its gone we wish that we still could appreciate it.
Its really terrible to think that just last year we were planning to Visit NYC this Christmas on the way to Canada, and one of the only places i wanted to visit was the WTC and see the WTC

You know what EGGD, I couldn't have said it better myself. I never truly realized how much I loved those buildings until the day they fell. I know it seems so selfish or insensitive to be so worried about some non living pieces of concrete and steel considering that almost 6000 people died there but I just can't help it. I have known and loved seeing that NYC skyline all of my life. I can not tell you guys how many times I would go down to the Jersey City waterfront at Exhange Place or Liberty State Park just to stare in amazement at that view. I used to always use those towers as a backdrop for so many pictures as well. It still even bothers me every night that I come home from work and am driving on the Pulaski Skyway eastbound and just looking over and not seeing them. All you see now is the glow of the flourescent lights that illuminate the site for the rescue workers. It's going to take me a very long time to get over it, if ever.
Anyhow, to add to the tribute here is my favorite shot of the towers...

I was just in NYC at the end of July, and went in tower 1 and 2, and sat and watched a concert at lunch time in the plaza. We got pizza at the sbarro in the mall area down below and ate up in the plaza. I had Ice Cream from the little ben and jerry's store after, and now they're gone. I have a picture on my desk of work that I took of them from the Empire State Bldg, and it helps remind me of the symbols of this country.
