So what did everybody get up to for Valentines Day then?
Personally, we went out for a nice meal at a gorgeous pub right out in the middle of the countryside not far from here. There were a lot of couples in there (obviously) but it was a really romantic atmosphere!
Any other A.netters been out for a meal or cooked in?

I saw some guy on his bike carrying a bunch of flowers... and I heard the words "Valentine's Day" about three times or so. Conclusion: It was great! Although I am a bit tired, but that's got more to do with two hours of seminar and five hours of lab practice after a couple of short nights.

Quoting Kaddyuk (Reply 2): I think i'll be celebrating a belated Valentines Day as i was working and she was in a different country... I didnt get a card however... !!! Wink I'm sure that its my job to forget the card... not hers... Wink
HEY!!!! I didn't forget
I would've gotten one on friday but the hospital didn't agree with that... and when I was out of hospital you were leaving!
a) I sent you an eCard but I think the site f*cked it up... otherwise it just didn't send me a copy...
b) A late v day card has been shipped your way...
So shush!!! I did remember!! The fact that I didn't tear your card open the second I got home from dropping you off at the airport and actually WAITED till I was supposed to open it was a very very big thing...
Quoting CFCUQ (Reply 7): So the visit put you in the hospital ? ........ I don't want to know ....
No... he was visiting because I had to go into hospital (as an out-patient, I might add) but it turned out to be a longer stay due to complications... the stay was extended from just being a few hours to 4 days.
Thanks for reminding me. My young fellers bought a set of Ludwigs last week, its been non-stop drumming at my house ever since. I have to wear hearing protection when at home. I need a place to hide .......

My day actually went pretty quick......5 hours and 100 miles later and all my deliveries were complete! It was snowing for most of the day here so it got a bit tedious 'creeping' round the city, but oh well. Dropped off a rose and teddy bear to my friend at her work...that made her day, so i guess it's been a good day at the office

Well, not quite the day I had in mind. Much like Kaz, I just wanted the day to pass without much fuss. I was wrong.
Today there were four weddings at the prison I work at. I know what you're thinking but no, the Inmates did not marry each other. Nothing more romantic that nuptials behind bars.
A simple valentine was sent to a woman I'm interested in (an Officer, Security Employee of the month, no less) under the guise of a "secret admirer." It was a co-worker's idea, who reports that the young lady was very pleased to receive it. Trouble is, I don't know what I'm supposed to do next.

I went downtown and surprised my friend Laura with a bottle of wine and a card...nothing too much or overly romantic...just a little "hey hope you have a nice v-day" gift. I'm sure someone gave her flowers. If not, she deserved them.
Other than that, we celebrated my brother's birthday. He just turned 20.
