How's everyone doing tonight?

Has anyone ever heard of "Krav Maga?" If you never heard of it, it's a self- defense orginated from the Isreali Defense Force. A combination of TKD, judo, and kung fu but more advanced. Has anyone taken a Krav Maga class? I'm a black belt in Tae Kwan Do but it's been ages since I've actually had to use it, so I want to learn some choke holds and other style if someone pulls a knife or whatever on me. What is it like? I hear that commercial airline crews go thru Krav Maga as part of their training. I just found this style of fighting and it sounds really interesting. Thanks.

Israeli martial art developed using Aikido, Judo and other principles that allows for deadly one steps and close quarter fighting. It's taught with increasing frequency here, achieving popularity that you need to make sure that whoever is teaching it really knows what they are doing.

You used the knife example.....krav maga teaches you to handle that situation among others.

If you already know another style, particularly one as disciplined and structured as tae kwan do you should be prepared for a looser style of fighting that relies less on competition/tournament style than on doing what it takes to disable your attacker, or whomever you attack.

Is my Pan Am ticket to the moon still good?
