Hey all,

It appears I have a new car (yayers !) however it came with a nasty NRA sticker on the trunklid.

Any tips on how I can remove the pesky thingy without ruining the paintwork ?

Warm soapy water and a cloth should do the trick, or try vinegar, but I don't know if it will do anything to the paintwork though.

Goo-gone, orange peel oil, I don't know. Those worked for me in the past, but I never tried it on a bumper sticker...

There are special solvents for sticker glue.

Is it a plastic or paper one?

It's a plastic sticker and I am unfortunately not to the point where I see the glue ! The sticker is so old it rips off in tiny pieces and it doesn't come in one go rhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

WD-40 will get it off. Wash area with soap water after to remove the residue. No paint damage either....

Petrol will also do the trick.

Edit: and won't harm the paintwork.

Seriously, petrol is one of the best cleaners there is. Obviously, don't smoke whilst cleaning off the sticker!

It's also the best (and cheapest) cleaner for things like tar spots, etc.

Just give the car a good wash and wax afterwards. The petrol has no ill-effects on the paintwork.

Just leave it on, and tell people you donated to the National Rifle Association. For best results, add a picture of Chuck Heston beside it.

If it doesn't stick, but it's supposed to, use Duct Tape. If it sticks but it's not supposed to, use WD-40.

Take it back and swap it for a sticker-free car.  Yeah sure
