OTSU, Shiga Pref. (Kyodo) A 34-year-old woman was arrested Friday on suspicion of fatally stabbing a 5-year-old girl and a 5-year-old boy, both kindergarten classmates of her daughter, in Nagahama, Shiga Prefecture.
Zheng Yongshan, who has Chinese nationality, confessed to stabbing the children after she was arrested in Otsu, Shiga Prefecture, police said, without mentioning a possible motive.
The girl had been stabbed 19 times, while the boy was stabbed 13 times. Both were later pronounced dead at a hospital, police said.
