The US President Curse... (Creepy Stuff) ;)

I read this in the paper yesterday and thought it was quite extraordinary. Naturally I lost the paper, so the info I'm providing sadly isn't as detailed as it could/should be.

Anyway, yesterdays paper were doing a special on curses, and one of these was put out by a native American, who cursed the president of the US. It was said that ever since the curse was put out (I believe sometime towards the end of the 19th century) Presidents of the US would die before they finished their term, and this would happen around every 20 years. And it seemed to be true as well!

Lincoln fitted into this group of presidents. As did Roosevelt (passed away in the mid 40s) and Kennedy (shot in the 60s).

Like I said, I don't have the newspaper who published this, but they had a complete list of presidents who, separated by roughly 20 years, all passed away before they finished their term.

It wasn't until Reagan survived the assassination attempt in the 80s, that the line was broken.

Obviously there is a clear pattern here. Coincidence some might say. A result of the curse others say.

So... now that the line was broken, does that mean the curse is lifted? Or is it possible today's president won't finish his 2nd term?

Makes you think...  Smile

I know what you're talking about. I've seen a documentary on the History Channel about this a few weeks ago!!! It was very interesting!

There was another one along the lines of Presidents whose number ended in a Zero as well. Reagan broke the string. Just a co-inky-dink IMO.

There was another theory linking Lincoln and Kennedy. It had a whole bunch of obscure "facts" to justify the theory. Reminded me of the Nostradamus thingy, if you dig deep enough, you can link just about anything.

The ORLY picture is actually a pun on the phrase "Oh, really?" and is meant in a sarcastic manner.

I'm not that supersticious, so I find it to be a coincidense as well. Still rather interseting though.

There was another theory linking Lincoln and Kennedy.

Lincoln elected to congress in 1846, Kennedy in 1946
Lincoln elected President in 1860, Kennedy in 1960
Both were shot on a Friday and both were shot in the head while seated
near their wives
Both of their wives lost a child while living in the white house
Both were succeeded by "Johnsons"
Andrew Johnson was born in 1808 - Lyndon Johnson in 1908
John Wilkes Booth was born in 1839
Lee Harvey Oswald was born in 1939
Both assassins are known by three names, and they contain 15 letters
Both assassins were killed before their trials
