Good News For Me Today!

Hey all! I got a letter in the mail today. As some of you know I'm a sports official in my spare time. I do basketball, baseball, and football, with baseball being my favorite, and strongest sport. I umpire some small college ball, high school ball, and volunteer my time when I can to umpire Little League ball.

Today I recieved a letter from the Little League Western Regional Director to inform me that I was selected to umpire the Sr. Baseball Western Regional Tournament this summer! This is a big deal for me, and others who are fortunate enough to recieve this honor, because of how much work it takes to make it that far. I've been to the Western Region Umpire School twice now, and have put in for a regional tournament for several years now. So, now is my time!

I only ask that those members who have made it they're task recently to berate me in the forums stay out of this thread. This is a big deal for me, and a huge honor. I ask that you not try and bring me down, as that isn't possible. I will simply ignore your replies, and ask that your responses be deleated.

Good job, you must be a good umpire to be asked to officiate such an event.

Thanks, guys! I've started a blog if you guys want to follow along. I don't expect many to follow...save maybe a few fellow umpires. But, a friend of mine that umpired this same tournament last year had a blog for his friends and family, so I figured I'd do the same:

I myself used to be a Lacrosse referee and i understand the dedication and commitment it takes to be an official no matter what sport. Good luck to you and I hope this is the beginning of bigger things in your officiating career.

Ok,

But really... Congrats, and I mean that.

Big achievement.. not many people can get to that level. But Little League, you better keep a watch on your back.. Those parents can be brutal... Are you going to be behind the plate, or out in the bases, or is that something you don't know until the day of or close to?
