Sorry to open a new thread, but 5.5 was getting rather long, taking a while to load and has been relegated to the back pages. As Pe@rson is probably still slumped out in the bar at the University in a strange land called Wales (somewhere near England), I have taken the liberty to start a new thread.
With all the postings on all 5.5 threads, I am getting rather lost with the arrangements for MAN Mass Meet! I have been through the threads to find out the arrangements so for, and I thought that maybe it might be helpful to post the summary to save others having to re-read all the postings and also so that others can check it for accuracy. Of course, anything might happen between now and July.
Date: 1 - 2 July 2006
Attendees: Rather than cutting and pasting the latest list, a list of attendees, their travel arrangements (where known), those attending the meal, where people are staying overnight, and who has a car can be found on TFSPhoto's website http:///www.tfsphoto.com/manmeet.php and Lew kindly agreed to keep this updated, although sadly he will not be able to attend.
Meet and Greet: I believe that during the morning Capital 146 plans to wait in arrivals (Terminal?) to meet/greet those flying in. Once everyone has arrived, I think the plans are for the group to go to Level 13 on the car park to join up with the others at a pre-determined time. There will be an afternoon rendezvous point at the AVP, again at a pre-determined time.
Meal Arrangements: I believe that there is a table booked in The Romper for 20 people from 19:00 on the Saturday. After bangers and mash plus a pint, most people will be going into the City Centre by train, some to Canal Street, some staying at The Romper, and the old folks will be left to do what old folks do before bedtime and an Ovaltine!
Concorde Visit: There was mention in an earlier thread of putting together a party for the Concorde visit, although the cost was £25 per person but included a glass of wine. That seemed to have gone quiet. Alex knows the guy in charge of Concorde at MAN, and was going to call in a favour or two, but nothing promised.
Have I missed anything?

Terminal will be T3 for those flying in on domestic flights, together with any BA or BD/WW flights (or dare I even say AA for any adventurous types who may visit from the US! ). I am pleased to report that I won't feel duty-bound to head to T1 Arrivals this year as my parents will be coming back from their annual pilgrimage in Guernsey the week after the Meet this year!
Anyway yes, the table at the pub is booked if that's all ok with everybody. So we have a plan that we can try to stick to, if anybody feels like doing something else though then that's fine but it won't have the official airliners.net bonafide stamp on it.
Are pilot_kaz and whitehatter still going to come after their spontaneous combustion type departure from these here parts?

Quoting Trekster (Reply 9): captiol, did we not meet ur parents last year as well, i cant recall lol
No, everyone who had arrived at that time decided that their poor little (or long) legs were soooo tired after having to stand upright on them for a whole 10 minutes, that they went for a sit down. I think only Kaz actually caught a glimpse of the folks.

Don't forget WOW as well They shall be bringing part of the Devonian contingent up for the meet .
I shall also be able to attend the evening meal at the Romper, something a little stronger than the Ovaltine on tap though I hope

Don't worry, Dan! I hadn't forgotten Air Southwest (how could I, I loved my LBA-BRS-LBA flights with them last year!). I merely singled out BA as their european and JFK services also operate from T3 and all of BD/WW's services will also have transferred to T3 by then.
Quoting Skidmarks (Reply 15): Dave, are you and your mum still across here next week?
Well, yes, we plan to still be over on Thursday, though after my previous aborted attempt at getting to IOM, I will take nothing for granted! However, just to add to the now compulsory spanner in the works, my car threw a wobbler last night and will be going into the garage Monday for minor surgery. If they can't get it fixed by Wednesday night then I am cursed (again!). Will update you Monday evening, Andy.
Finally, I hope all these stories of Biman DC-10's coming are true! One of the days of operation is a Saturday evening!
Like a fine wine, one gets better with age.
25 Leezyjet: Hey I might show up this year, seeing as I missed last year's. Just depends if I'm working or not though.
26 Petertenthije: You can put me back on the list as a maybe. The move to a new place has been postponed indefinately due to some issues at work (not my fault!). So I g
