Hey, I came across that show, Flight Attendant School, on The Travel Channel. I'm watching it right now.

Since this is an airliners Website, I was wondering if anyone has watched it, too, and what they think of it. Is it realistic?

Thanks, everyone.  Smile

I watched a few episodes, mostly cuz I wanted to see my friend who was in a couple of them. I liked the one where the trainees got to experience a real slide deployment, that was cool to watch happen, and when they had to go into the decompression chamber or whatever, and that one chick turned into a vegetable, that had me on the edge of my seat.

Yes, I'm a sucker for reality tv. Big grin

Oh, yeah I watch it every now and then, but I think it gets kind of boring at times.

^^Interesting! (To both people who replied.)

Well, they just ended one episode and they're starting another. At the end of that first one, they had an obituary graphic for Pam Gardner, 1954-2005. I wonder what happened to her. From that episode, she seemed quite a capable and empathetic administrator and I'm sure she is very greatly missed.

I'm watching it now. Is your friend still on the show?

Ya, just look for a cute 23'ish blonde guy lol. He isn't one of the trainee's, he's already with F9, but he was on hand to help out during the filming and stuff.

I just checked the show's website and they list only two male students, so based on Reply 5, I guess it must be one of those two who is an A.net member.  Smile

Aw, darn! This topic has already been posted, although in a different Forum. I wonder if the Moderators will close this one.

I didn't see a thread on the same topic in this Forum, which is why I posted this one.

I apologize in advance if this was a breach of protocol.

Having read the first few messages in the earlier thread, how come they don't list a "Michael" on the show's website?  Confused

Note the dates in the thread I posted in reply #10. It's an old thread and it dealt with the beginning of the show. Now the class is close to graduating. It's a bit different.

Oh that's trippy! Ok, ya, my friend, and Michael happen to be the same person haha. I thought a.net had two people from the show! That would have been awesome lol.

I think it's a whole lot more interesting than "Airline". At least what happens each week is different and new. We don't see the same lame: Drunk pax is DB'd; person has bags lost; person is upset over how they're bags are handled and yell at the gate agents; pax is told they're bag is too big to carry on, and freaks out on the CSA; pax misses flight and freaks out on CSA......etc etc etc.

This show is fresh, different, and fun to watch!!

The show raises a lot of interesting issues. And I'm surprised that there isn't more discussion on this forum.

For example, William was criticized for not smiling during the safety briefing and at other times. A note was put in his personnel file and he was threatened with termination if the non-smiling is reported again.

I don't want to focus on William, just the Frontier policy of requiring F/A's to smile during the safety briefing. As a passenger, I don't care if the F/A smiles or not. In fact, I prefer that they don't.

But why can't the F/A either smile or not smile depending on which makes them more comfortable? Some people can force a phony smile easier than others. This is an aspect of "diversity", letting people be who they honestly are without discrimination. It's wrong to assume that a person is unhappy when he's not smiling and then punish him for having a bad attitude.

This issue leaves me not smiling at Frontier.  Sad

The only exposure I've had to the show was just those two episodes I mentioned. I didn't know there were all these rules and policies that they would cover. Sounds like a bit of inside information that a lowly passenger like me would find interesting.

If you look nervous, the pax will start getting nervous.

Thinking about it, I think they should have a flight attendant show on Hugh Hefner's Playboy Channel.

 Big grin

I'm only kidding. I don't subscribe to that channel. Really.  Smile
