Hello everyone,
I've fallen in love with Dubai, and I really want to go! When is the cheapest time for flights from the US? Most likely from BOS or NYC. I would like to do this maybe this Summer but if not, most likely next March. This would be a trip with my friends from school. Is Dubai affordable once there? Thanks!

Prices for over seas flights go real high after March. I know when I go to Pakistan on EK, it costs me around $1200-$1300. In March it would be
around $900-$1000. Also in the Summer its around 100 degrees at midnight.
Its like walking into an Oven when you get off the airconditioned airplane.

Cheapest time to visit DXB is definately from June-August. This is when its hottest their and the hotels offer huge discounts due to the heat turning most people away.

You can stay in the Burj for around £400 a night which is a very good rate.

Are flights typically cheaper in the June-August time frame as well?

I am too keen on going to Dubai for a holiday somtime in June/July.

I managed to find a cheap fare ex-Sydney to Dubai, but I am discovering that accomodation is damn expensive in Dubai when compared to places like Singapore, Hong Kong etc (for 3-4 star hotels).

Can anyone recommend a good site to find out some cheap accomodation?

It is cheapest to go to the UAE in general bwtween June and August (summer months) because that is when most of the tourists stay home due to the extreme heat during the time period...

www.airnet.co.uk has some good deals.

I went with them a couple of years ago in June and got 5 nights half board in a 5 star hotel ( Le Royal Meridien) with a room upgrade and EK flights from MAN for £500.

They do hotel only too, after you select your rooms etc you are usually offered a chance to upgrade to half board which I would seriously consider as food at the hotels can be expensive.

Drinks in hotels can be pricey too, the cheapest bottle of wine was £25 and that was for Blue Nun !

Hope you have a good time,

Chris
