Office, Internet -> OK.

FS2004, GTA3 -> Ouch.

Better off with a Centrino or P4M.

The PentiumM, or the Core series of processors, are much much better than the P4 offerings, so I would recommend getting one over the alternatives.

UTA_flyinghigh - Centrino based systems is a PentiumM processor based system anyway, since Centrino is a package of a certain set of technologies which include the PentiumM/Core chip, wireless technology and motherboard chipset. And the P4M is jsut crap.

Intel are replacing the P4 series of chips with PentiumM based offerings under the name of 'Core' and 'Core Duo', so that must say something.

You might want to consider one with a 64-bit processor for future OSs. For Intel CPUs, look for the -EM suffix.

If you want to save money and get a good computer, forget Celeron - AMD Turion will give you much better performance for the same money more or less.
