I think it is because there is a 'cookie' put on your browser..by this I mean it recognises that once you have used A.net once to post with that particular computer this cookie or file (whatever it is in the software) activates this feature. This makes your threads easier to see when you are looking through the discussions. I have noticed it also puts your username in the box without you having to type it in every time.
..then I could be wrong, so anyone feel free to correct me or verify..
